The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 393

Lilly felt a sudden heat at the tip of her nose. She touched it and, sure enough, her nose was bleeding again.

“Ugh, not again. I’m bleeding!” she groaned.

Jace didn’t miss a beat. He pulled a tissue from the box and gently plugged her nostril. “Tilt your head back.”

Lilly obeyed, looking up. “Why do I always get nosebleeds whenever I’m with you?”

Jace just glanced at her. “It’s fine now.”

She stared at him. “Why aren’t you saying anything?”

What was he supposed to say?

Jace didn’t answer. He just turned to leave.

He was shutting her out again.

Lilly moved quickly, blocking his way and thrusting a small bottle at him. “Here. This is for you.”

He frowned. “What is it?”

She pointed to his shoulder, where the skin was red and raw. “You hauled all those bags of cement today. Your shoulder looks awful. Rub this on, morning and night. It’ll help with the pain.”

Jace looked at her for a moment, still silent.

“Take it,” she urged, pushing the bottle toward him.

He reached out, and when his hand closed over hers, he grabbed both the bottle and her hand. With a sudden pull, Jace yanked her forward. Lilly stumbled right into his chest, completely caught off guard.

She looked up, and his face was so close. He must have just showered. His short hair was still damp, making him look less intimidating and more like a rebellious boy.

Lilly blinked, feeling her heart race. “What’s going on?”

Jace stared at her, taking in her soft, confused expression. She looked cute right then, and he lowered his voice. “What do you want?”

Lilly couldn’t keep up. “What do I want? What are you talking about?”

Before she could figure it out, everything went dark for a split second. Jace leaned down and kissed her, his lips brushing softly over hers.

She went on, “Why are you looking at me like that? You said you wanted to pay me back. You saw how much I helped you today. You can’t seriously think one tiny peck is enough, can you? Jace, I want more.”

Jace, I want more!

She said it with a little pout, her voice sweet and demanding.

Lilly noticed his ears turning red.

He was blushing. Jace, who was always so cool, was actually blushing.

The sight made her bold. She’s done holding back.

Lilly slipped her arms around his neck.

Jace tensed, but he didn’t move away.

That was all the invitation she needed. If he could kiss her, then she could kiss him right back.

Lilly stood on her tiptoes and pressed her lips to his.
