The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 403

She had already seen the photo Wyatt sent. Honestly, this had to be the lowest point the Irvine family had ever hit.

They climbed their way up, step by step, using her dad’s hard-earned legacy. Now they had fallen hard, and it was actually a little satisfying to watch.

“I saw it,” she said.

“Ella, I told them you’re the only one who can help them now. I even said they should come and beg you. What do you think? Will they actually do it?”

Ella’s lips curled into a small, knowing smile. “They will.”

She understood the Irvines better than anyone. When it came down to money and survival, they’d swallow their pride and come running to her. It would hurt them, but they’d do it all the same.

“If they really show up, what will you do?” came the next question.

She slipped a red rose into the vase and glanced away. “I’ve been waiting for them to come to me.”

An hour later, the Irvine family showed up at Stellaris Apartments.

Grandma Jill couldn’t believe her eyes. “Ella lives here now?”

Jessa, Maureen, and Rachel hadn’t told Grandma Jill about Ella’s luxury car or fancy apartment. None of them wanted to ask Ella for help, but with nowhere else to go, they had no choice.

Jessa nodded. “Yeah, Ella lives here.”

Grandma Jill shook her head and sighed. “We’re out here sleeping on park benches, and Ella gets to live in a place like this? How did that even happen?”

Rachel rolled her eyes. “Mom, Ella’s just mooching off some guy. Haven’t you seen her with Wyatt? He’s completely whipped. This whole apartment was bought by Wyatt.”

Maureen chimed in, “Grandma, do you really think Ella could afford this place by herself? Seriously, don’t waste your jealousy.”

Jessa jumped in. “Ella, how can you say that? You’re still an Irvine. Maureen got scammed by that fake Doctor E. You need to help us.”

Maureen added, “Yeah, Ella, you can’t just turn your back on us. If the Irvines go down, how does that help you? Are you just gonna sit back and laughing? You’re so cold-hearted.”

Ella looked straight at Jessa. “Are you finished?”

Before Jessa could speak, Ella started to close the door.

“Ella!” Jessa quickly blocked it with her hand. “What are you doing?”

Ella just smiled, her lips painted red. “Jessa, why are you really here? To tell me how to live my life? If I’m right, you’re here to ask for help, aren’t you?”

She let her gaze drift across each of their faces and then said, half amused, “Do I seriously need to teach you how to ask for help? If you can’t even show the right attitude, then there’s nothing to talk about.”
