Jace looked at her, his face unreadable. “What do you want?”
Liana stepped closer, her fingers—tipped in glossy red polish—prodding the firm muscle at his waist. “Wow, you’re hard.”
Jace batted her hand away. “Keep your hands to yourself.”
But Liana just smiled, unbothered. “Come on, you know why I’m here. We’re both adults. From now on, you stick with me. I’ll take care of you. As long as you keep me happy in bed, you can name your price. No more stripping or dancing for money.”
Jace looked her over. “Aren’t you married? Don’t you worry your husband will find out?”
Liana shrugged, confidence oozing from her. “Relax, he’ll never know. I’ve done this before. He’s never suspected a thing. It’s totally safe.”
Jace’s lips curled into a thin, cold smile. “What if I tell him?”
She scoffed. “He wouldn’t believe you.”
Jace reached into his pocket and pulled out a recorder. “That’s too bad, because I just recorded everything you said.”
All the color drained from Liana’s face. She hadn’t seen that coming.
Her voice dropped, her expression turning icy. “You really don’t know what’s good for you. I have money, looks, and a body most men would kill for. I’m even offering to pay you to sleep with me. No one has ever turned me down before. You’re the first.”
It was true. Liana had taken good care of herself, and a lot of men found her mature charm hard to resist.
Jace let out a cold laugh. “If so many guys want you, go find them. I’m not interested. But if you even think about messing with my family, I swear I’ll make your life hell.”
There was something dangerous in his eyes that made Liana go quiet.
Jace turned to leave, but suddenly, something felt off. Heat rushed through him, making his skin prickle.
He spun back to Liana, eyes narrowed. “What did you put in this room?”
Liana sized her up. Lilly’s youth and beauty stood out—her small, delicate face soft and lovely, her eyes bright and sparkling. Standing next to Jace, they looked like a picture-perfect young couple.
Liana arched an eyebrow. “Shouldn’t I be asking you that? Who are you?”
Without missing a beat, Lilly wrapped her arm around Jace’s. “He’s my boyfriend. Why are you looking for him?”
Liana turned her attention to Jace. “She’s your girlfriend?”
Jace didn’t answer. “Let’s go.”
He led Lilly away without looking back.
Liana stood there, fuming, stomping her foot in frustration. That guy really didn’t know what he was missing.
