The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 482

David gazed down at Jessa, who looked absolutely stunning beneath him. He leaned in closer, his eyes never leaving hers.

Ella slipped into her apartment and immediately ran a hot bath, letting the warmth soak away the day. Wrapped in her favorite nightgown, she stepped out feeling refreshed, just as her phone chimed with a new message.

She glanced at the screen. Jessa had sent her a voice note.

Curiosity got the better of her. Ella tapped play, and Jessa’s moan filled the room, breathy and dramatic. “David, go easy… ah… you’re hurting me…”

Ella’s face went cold. She hadn’t expected Jessa to send something like that. Seriously?

So Jessa was with David now. Maybe she was just trying to rub it in.

Ella didn’t react. She simply put her phone down and went on with her evening, refusing to give Jessa the satisfaction of a response.

Some time passed before the doorbell rang.

Who could that be at this hour?

Ella walked over and opened the door. Jessa stood there, still wearing David’s white shirt, a smug smile on her lips.

“Jessa, what are you doing here?” Ella asked, not bothering to hide her annoyance.

Jessa’s grin widened. “Did you get my message?”

Ella met her gaze with a cool stare. “Yeah. Nice acting.”

Jessa’s smile faltered. She’d clearly expected to get under Ella’s skin, but Ella stayed icy calm.

“Is that all? Because if you’re done, I’d like to close the door now.” Ella started to shut it.

Jessa lunged, pushing the door open and striding right into the apartment.

Ella didn’t notice a thing. She held the door open. “There you go, Jessa.”

Jessa strutted out, and Ella closed the door firmly behind her.

Jessa didn’t seem upset about being kicked out. If anything, she looked thrilled as she made her way back to David’s place.

David was already out of the shower, looking fresh but serious. He’d barely touched Jessa before, just pushed her onto the bed and then walked away. Nothing had happened between them.

Jessa, not one to admit defeat, had faked the whole scene and sent that voice note to Ella, hoping it would get under her skin.

She just wanted Ella to think she’d slept with David.

David’s voice broke the silence. “Jessa, we’ve wasted enough time. Show me the pendant.”

Jessa pouted. “What’s the rush, David? Why do you want to see it so badly? Are you doubting me? Do you think I’m not the girl who saved you?”
