The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 487

David switched topics without warning. “Did you get through to Wyatt yet?”

The second Ella heard Wyatt’s name, her heart skipped a beat.

Today David looked every bit the part of a man in control. He wore a perfectly tailored black suit, exuding confidence and power. His gaze landed on Ella, but there wasn’t a hint of warmth left in his eyes. All she saw was cool indifference, like she was nothing more than a stranger to him now.

He had made his choice. He picked Jessa. Whatever they’d had was gone.

There was no softness left in the way he looked at her, only a cutting, ruthless edge.

He finally spoke. “Ella, you couldn’t reach Wyatt, could you? Or more accurately, your call with him got cut off. Isn’t that right?”

Ella felt dread sinking in. She stared at David, her voice shaky. “What did you do to Wyatt?”

David just shrugged. “Try calling him again. See if you can get through.”

Ella fumbled for her phone and dialed Wyatt’s number. Her hands were cold, her breath shallow.

All she got was a busy signal. No answer.

Wyatt never went off the grid like this. She should have realized something was wrong right away. With his background, almost no one would dare mess with him—except David.

Rockford Bay was David’s place. If he wanted to make Wyatt disappear, it would be too easy.

Ella’s voice trembled as she looked at him. “David, what did you do? Where is Wyatt?”

She felt ice in her veins as she met his eyes. “David, you know who killed my dad. It was these people. His so-called mother, his brothers, even his wife. They all worked together to kill him. They’re murderers.”

“And now, you’re choosing their side? Are you really going to protect killers?”

She pointed at her father’s grave, her voice breaking. “David, you were never perfect, but at least you had a conscience. Now, right in front of my dad, you’re seriously siding with them?”

David’s hand at his side curled into a fist. He knew. He already suspected the truth about the Irvine family.

When he saw the cold disappointment in Ella’s eyes, something flickered in his own.

Jessa tugged his arm tighter, her voice soft but urgent. “David, you’re not going to change your mind again, are you?”
