The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 660

Lilly froze, her eyes darting between the two men dressed in black. “What are you doing? Let me go!”

They tightened their grip, their faces cold and unfriendly. “Tough luck for you. Someone paid good money for that face of yours.”

Her heart skipped. Was this really happening? Someone had actually hired people to hurt her.

“Who sent you? Why do they want to hurt me?” Lilly demanded, trying to keep her voice steady.

One of the men sneered. “You don’t need to know. All that matters is, you won’t walk away with that pretty face today.”

She struggled, twisting and pushing with all her strength, but there was no way to break free. They held her as if she weighed nothing.

Desperation clawed at her. She screamed, “Help! Somebody, help me!”

The man closest to her slapped his hand over her mouth. “Damn, this one’s a fighter. Hurry up and mess up her face.”

While he pinned her arms, the other man pulled out a knife. The blade gleamed as he brought it closer, inch by inch.

Lilly’s heart hammered in her chest, wild and frantic. The knife was right there, about to cut into her skin.

Adrenaline surged through her. She brought her knee up fast, catching one of them right between the legs.

He let out a howl and stumbled back, pain twisting his face.

The second man still had her, but she didn’t hesitate. She bit down hard on his hand.

He yelped and jerked back, loosening his hold.

Without looking back, Lilly tore herself free and ran.

One of them lunged with the knife, aiming straight for her face.

Lilly shrieked and threw her hands up to protect herself. But the pain never came.

Peeking through her fingers, she saw the masked stranger kick out, landing a solid blow to the attacker’s stomach.

The man flew back, crashing into the wall with a sickening thud.

The second man glared at the newcomer. “Who the hell are you? Stay out of this if you know what’s good for you. Unless you want to get hurt too.”

Lilly stared at the stranger. Even with the mask, she could tell he was tall and lean, the sharp line of his jaw visible under the edge of the mask. There was something about the way he stood, the confidence in his posture, that looked almost familiar.

She couldn’t shake the feeling. Had she seen this masked man before?
