The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 680

Another random number.

These virtual numbers could pop up by the dozen every minute, each with its own IP address, impossible to trace.

It was the kidnapper calling.

Ella pressed the answer button. “Hello?”

A robotic voice crackled through the speaker. “Ella, are you there?”

She gripped her phone a little tighter. “Yeah, I’m here.”

“Did you see the men I arranged for you tonight? You know what you have to do, right? Be a good girl and take care of them.”

A cold smile tugged at Ella’s lips. “Sure. I’m doing exactly what you asked. Taking care of them.”

“You’re lying! You’re not doing anything. I know you’re fighting back!”

Ella’s gaze snapped up, sharp and clear as she scanned the sprawling private winery. “So you’re here, aren’t you?”

She’d said it on purpose, to bait the kidnapper. And just like that, she got her answer. The kidnapper was somewhere nearby, hiding in the shadows, watching everything.

The place was huge. Ella looked around, but she couldn’t spot anyone out of place.

On the other end, the kidnapper realized she’d slipped up. Her voice turned nasty. “Ella, you’re trying to fool me!”

Ella gave a little smirk. “Do we know each other?”

Silence.

She kept going, not letting up for a second. “We do, don’t we? There’s something between us… a grudge, maybe. You’re after me and my daughter, right? That means I can guess who you are. Jessa, is it you?”

She didn’t stop. “Jessa, have you even thought about what happens next? You’ve always wanted to marry David, right? But if Mrs. Harmon finds out you’re behind this, do you really think she’ll ever accept you as her daughter-in-law? All your scheming will come to nothing.”

Jessa’s face twisted, her anger boiling over. “Ella, shut up!”

But Ella just smiled. She was sure of it now. Jessa was the one who had taken Lola and Mrs. Harmon.

Jessa tried to sound calm. “Stop trying to change the subject. Your daughter and Mrs. Harmon are in my hands. If you don’t do what I say right now, your daughter’s life is on the line.”

Ella’s tone was unwavering. “Keep dreaming, Jessa. I’m not doing what you want.”

“Oh really?”

The words had barely left Jessa’s mouth when Lola’s small, terrified scream burst through the call. “Ah!”
