The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 749

“The DNA test results are right here. Just open the envelope and you’ll see for yourself.”

David took a steadying breath. “Alright.”

He opened the sealed envelope and pulled out the report. As he scanned the page, his eyes widened. Lola was his biological daughter!

Aiden’s voice broke through the silence. “The DNA results confirm it. You are Miss Lola’s father. Congratulations.”

Lola really was his daughter. David felt like the world had shifted beneath his feet. He’d never even dared to hope. All this time, he thought Lola belonged to Wyatt. It turned out he was wrong.

He glanced toward the dining room, where little Lola sat next to Ella. The two of them looked so soft, so full of warmth. Suddenly, all that he had ever wanted was right there, within reach. They were his.

But now, a question he’d ignored before started to gnaw at him. What was really going on between Ella and Wyatt?

He needed answers. He had to find Wyatt and get the truth.

David didn’t waste a second. He strode out of the room.

Lola spotted him from her seat and called out, her voice sweet and bright, “Mr. Harmon…”

David didn’t hear her. He kept walking until he was out the door.

Mrs. Harmon looked at his retreating back, puzzled. “Where’s David running off to? He didn’t even sit down for dinner.”

Ella watched him too, her clear eyes full of worry. Something was strange about him today. He seemed completely out of sorts.

Mrs. Harmon turned to them. “Ella, Lola, let’s start eating. Don’t wait for David. He probably had to go to the office.”

Ella nodded. “Okay.”

David carried on, his voice even. “Ella told me everything. About Lola’s father. About you and her.”

Wyatt stared at him. “She told you all that?”

David grabbed Wyatt by the collar, anger finally breaking through. “Wyatt, why pretend to be Ella’s boyfriend? Why lie about Lola being your daughter? You kept me away from them for three years. Do you have any idea how angry I am?”

Wyatt just sneered. “David, maybe you should think about what you did. You were the one who hurt Ella. As her friend, I had to teach you a lesson.”

David froze. Friend? The word rang in his ears. He had always assumed Wyatt and Ella were together. Now everything made sense.

“You’re Ella’s friend?”

Wyatt nodded. “Didn’t you say Ella already told you about us…” He trailed off, realizing something. “David, she didn’t say a word, did she? You were just bluffing.”
