“I’ll be waiting in my office.” He hung up before she could finish.

Ella stared at her phone, frustration bubbling up. She didn’t want to go, but she knew she had no choice. David must have found out the truth. She hurried to get dressed and rushed straight to Harmon Corporation.

Half an hour later, she pushed open the door to his office. “David, where’s Lola?”

He was behind his desk, looking as calm as ever. “Ella.”

“Where is she? I want to see her.”

“Yeah, she’s your daughter.”

David stepped closer, his presence overwhelming. “Why didn’t you tell me? Why did you lie to me all this time? I’m her father. I deserved to know.”

“David, you had Jessa,” Ella said quietly, her voice shaking. “I didn’t want Lola to get caught up in your life.”

David’s eyes darkened, but he didn’t say anything for a moment.

“I’m taking Lola home,” Ella insisted.

“That’s not happening. She’s my daughter too. I’m not letting her go.”
