The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 910

Lilly was standing by the door when Jason walked over, tall and commanding as ever. As soon as he got close, his shadow fell over her. She stepped back on instinct, but almost bumped into the wall behind her.

Before she could react, Jason reached out and slipped his arm around her waist, pulling her right up against him. Suddenly, they were chest to chest.

Lilly’s lashes fluttered. “Mr. Farill…”

Jason looked right at her. “Why are you so nervous? Didn’t you want my number?”

She already wished she had said no when Pattie asked for this favor. Somehow, she regretted it even more now.

“Mr. Farill, if it’s a bother, you really don’t have to...”

She never got to finish. Jason hauled her closer, so she bumped right into his solid, hard chest.

His fresh, clean scent made her dizzy.

Right away, Lilly pressed her hands to his chest to keep a little distance. “Mr. Farill…”

Jason glanced at her hands. “And where exactly do you think you’re touching?”

Lilly went silent. She definitely wasn’t trying to feel him up. But she couldn’t help but notice how firm his muscles were under her palms. Had he been working out lately? He felt impossibly strong.

Embarrassed, Lilly pulled her hands away. “Sorry, Mr. Farill.”

Jason raised an eyebrow, obviously amused at her blushing. “So... my number?”

“Mr. Farill, it’s not for me…”

It was for Pattie... not that he let her explain.

Before Lilly could get another word out, Jason just said, “Sure.”

He was actually going to give it to her? She honestly thought he’d refuse. He was so distant, and besides, wasn’t he with Hanna now? Why would he give his number to another girl?

“My number hasn’t changed. It’s my cell,” he told her.

“Okay,” Lilly said, nodding. “Mr. Farill, you can let go now.”

Lilly decided not to answer.

Just then, Pattie hurried over. “Lilly, did you get Jason’s number?”

Lilly handed her a little slip of paper. “Yeah, here. This is Mr. Farill’s number.”

Pattie’s eyes lit up. “Thank you, Lilly! I’m going to add him right now.”

Pattie immediately pulled out her phone and shot Jason a text.

Now it was just a matter of waiting to see if he’d reply.

Lilly glanced at Pattie’s phone, wondering if Jason really would.

Meanwhile, Jason was standing alone in the kitchen, feeling overheated. The feeling of holding Lilly was still fresh in his mind.

He walked over to the window, pushed it open, and let in the cool night air, hoping it might clear his head.
