The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 923

Suddenly, the front door clicked open. Victoria was back. "Lilly!" she called out.

Lilly jumped in fright and immediately tried to scramble off Jason. "Victoria is home."

Jason's grip tightened around her waist, anchoring her in place. "Don't move."

"Are you crazy? Victoria is back, and she's looking for me!"

Victoria's voice echoed down the hall. "Lilly, where are you? Lilly? Jason?"

She was looking for Jason now, too.

Lilly's face burned scarlet. If Victoria walked in and caught them in the act, she would never be able to show her face again.

"Jason, let me go! Victoria is looking for us, we can't do this!"

"Call her," Jason murmured in a low voice. "Tell her you're not coming back tonight."

What did he mean?

Lilly refused immediately. "No!"

"No to what? No to making the call, or no to spending the night in my room?" Jason challenged.

He actually wanted her to spend the entire night here. Her mind was a chaotic mess. "Just no!"

"Then let Victoria walk in. Are you not embarrassed?"

"I..." Of course she was embarrassed.

Victoria's footsteps were getting closer. "Lilly? Jason? Are you guys here?"

She was heading straight for the bedroom.

Left with no choice, Lilly surrendered. She grabbed her phone and quickly dialed Victoria's number.

Victoria picked up immediately. "Hey, Lilly, where did you go? I couldn't find you."

Lilly cast a frantic glance at Jason before speaking. "Victoria, I went home. Get some rest, and I'll come see you tomorrow."

She froze as the memories of the previous night came rushing back like a tidal wave. He had been so demanding and relentless. She had to cry and beg for mercy before he finally let her rest.

Lilly reached down and gently touched her stomach. Everything felt fine; the baby was safe.

Breathing a sigh of relief, her gaze settled on Jason's face. She hadn't taken a good look at him in a while.

He was devastatingly handsome. The cold, brooding teenager she once knew had matured into an elegant, distinguished man.

Lilly reached up, her soft fingertips lightly tracing the contours of his face. From the sharp arch of his brow to the bridge of his nose, and finally lingering on his thin, attractive lips.

A surge of pure, aching tenderness swelled in her chest. She wanted to stay in this moment with Jason forever.

But she knew it was impossible.

Lilly pulled her hand back.

The very next second, a large, warm hand clamped around her slender wrist. Jason slowly opened his eyes.
