Damaris's eyes reddened. Her arm trembled as she glared viciously at the screen.

"In your dreams! Caleb, I finally see you for who you really are today!"

"Mika's three years of high school and a year and a half of college... I acted as your live-in maid and slept with you the entire time! How do we calculate that?!"

"You get all the benefits and still play the victim? You want a hundred thousand dollars from me? Go to hell!"

"Oh, trying to weasel out of it? Can't afford it?!" Caleb fired back.

"You're a piece of used goods! Don't act like sleeping with me is some grand favor! I did you a favor by taking you in, otherwise who would want you?!"

"Either drag your ass back here and behave, or pay up. Your choice!"

Damaris froze, staring at Caleb in sheer disbelief.

She remembered when they first met; he had been her ex-boyfriend's poker buddy.

He seemed polite and normal at the card table, and everyone had spoken highly of him.

After her breakup, Caleb pursued her relentlessly, taking her to dinner, driving her home, and acting incredibly courteous and considerate.

"There's no rush. You're not in the right state to work for anyone just yet. I don't have classes tomorrow morning, so I'll take you out for a makeover first."

The next day, Mika met up with Damaris but didn't rush her into any makeover. Instead, she took her to an upscale neighborhood near the university.

In the courtyard, several people were watching kids play in the recreational area.
