Lucas wasn't so quick to reply this time.
Mika waited for half an hour, and when no message came, she simply turned off the light and went to sleep.
She felt completely at peace, without a trace of anxiety or insecurity.
After all, Lucas, and indeed all the male leads in this world, were nothing more than targets to conquer.
She used them, calculated every move, and went to extreme lengths to get close to them just to extract their resources, level herself up, and break free from this cursed plotline.

The next morning.
After getting ready, Mika checked her phone. Still no reply from him.
She took the bus to school as usual. When she walked into the classroom, several classmates greeted her warmly.
"Good morning, Mika!"
"How does Prof. Miller keep getting prettier?"
"Did you have breakfast? I've got an extra sandwich here..."
Mika smiled and greeted everyone before taking her usual seat in the middle of the room.
Ever since her glow-up, her popularity had skyrocketed, and she experienced far more kindness than before.
Now, everywhere she went on campus, people eagerly said hello. It had become the new normal, and deep down, it no longer caused a ripple of emotion.
Placing her textbooks on the desk, Mika instinctively stuffed her canvas tote into her cubby, only to hear a faint rustle.
She glanced down and spotted a white envelope sitting inside.
Written clearly across the front was: *To Mika*.
She looked around to make sure no one was watching, then opened it and began to read quietly.
Just as she suspected, it was a love letter.
