The Girl They Ignored Returned as the Woman Seven Men Would Die For novel Chapter 160

"It's fine, it's totally fine. I'll just wash it when I get home."

Mika sighed, offering Brenda a reassuring smile. "It's not a big deal. Go back to your section, really, it's okay."

Brenda still looked riddled with guilt.

"Oh, honey, this dress is so pretty. I don't even know how much it costs. Let me pay you back."

"No, no, this dress..." Mika started, but Lucas's apologetic voice cut her off.

"This wasn't her fault." Lucas's gaze locked onto Mika's brave, forced smile.

"I was too eager to grab the drink, and she knocked the other one over. I'll have my assistant bring you a new dress right now. I'm not letting you walk out of here looking like that."

Mika froze. Brenda immediately let out a massive sigh of relief and thanked him.

"Oh, thank you so much, young man! We both messed up here. Tell you what, the Cokes are on the house tonight. You two enjoy, I gotta get back to work!"

"Alright."

Brenda practically sprinted away. Mika turned to Lucas with an awkward smile. "I brought you here to thank you. I can't let you buy me things. Seriously, it's fine. I'll just hold a shopping bag over it when we leave."

As if terrified Lucas felt guilty, she leaned in and whispered like it was a grand secret.

"This dress was only fifteen bucks. It's literally worthless, please don't stress about it."

But Lucas clearly wasn't taking no for an answer. He glanced briefly at her figure, then looked down and started firing off a text on his phone.

A few minutes later, he set his phone down, a lazy smirk curving his lips.

"A dress is nothing to me. You're treating me to dinner; I can't let you walk out of here feeling humiliated, right?"

Mika put on a masterful display of nervous hesitation.

"But I'm supposed to be thanking you for the gift you gave my mom. If you buy me something now, aren't you just losing out again..."
