The Girl They Ignored Returned as the Woman Seven Men Would Die For novel Chapter 161

"Give them to Mika," Lucas commanded with a careless jerk of his chin. "You can go."

Xavier froze.

He slowly turned his head toward the girl sitting across from Lucas, and his jaw practically unhinged.

Mika? Seraphina's infamous 'ugly best friend' Mika?

Why on earth was his boss eating dinner with Mika?! And ordering him to buy her dresses?!

Wait. Hold on.

Who was this gorgeous woman?!

This was the 'ugly' Mika?!!

The woman before him wore a simple white dress, her figure slender and elegant. Her stunning, slightly aloof eyes carried a mesmerizing, magnetic charm. With a refined nose and luminous skin, she wore no makeup, yet she looked as breathtaking and pure as a lotus breaking the water's surface.

She looked absolutely nothing like the hideous photos he'd seen on the campus forums!

Xavier seriously questioned his own sanity, staring at her in complete silence for far too long.

Irritated by his assistant's blatant staring, a sudden flare of possessive annoyance shot through Lucas. He aimed a swift kick at Xavier's leg. "Hand them over! What are you zoning out for?"

Xavier snapped out of his trance. Plastering on an apologetic smile, he handed the bags to her. "Ms. Miller, I'm so sorry. Spaced out for a second."

Mika immediately stood up out of respect, accepting the bags with an embarrassed smile.

"It's totally fine. I'm so sorry for making you run errands."

Xavier was genuinely taken aback by her humble, polite demeanor.

His boss had female friends before. Xavier had bought plenty of birthday gifts and apology presents for them.

But those rich socialites looked at him like he was the help. They never gave him the time of day, just snatching the gifts and waving him off like a fly before going right back to flirting with Lucas.

As an assistant, being treated like a mindless tool by high society was just part of the job description.
