The Girl They Ignored Returned as the Woman Seven Men Would Die For novel Chapter 18

At noon, Mika headed to the dance studio to wait for Seraphina so they could grab lunch at the dining hall.

Seraphina emerged in her leotard. Seeing a visibly slimmer Mika standing in front of her, a flicker of suspicion flashed through her dazzling eyes.

"Mika," she said, circling her friend before frowning and pinching the soft flesh of Mika's waist.

"Your skin looks so much brighter... and have you lost a ton of weight without me noticing?"

Mika gave a dismissive laugh. "I guess my recent diet is actually working."

Seraphina pressed her lips into a tight line, but didn't say anything else.

Once they arrived at the dining hall, Seraphina broke from her usual routine and pushed Mika into a booth.

"You save the table. I'll go get the food."

A few minutes later, Seraphina returned, dropping two trays onto the table with a sickeningly sweet smile radiating from her innocent face.

"You usually get the food for me, so it's my turn to take care of you today!"

Mika lowered her eyes, staring at the tray placed in front of her.

BBQ ribs, loaded potato skins, deep-fried onion rings, a massive cheeseburger, and an enormous mountain of fries...

Meanwhile, Seraphina's tray held only a pitiful scoop of quinoa, a tiny side salad, and a few steamed shrimp.

"Eat up! I got you all your absolute favorites," Seraphina urged cheerfully, picking up her fork.

Right. Her absolute favorites—greasy, heavy, calorie-dense foods guaranteed to pack on the pounds.

Mika just smiled and said nothing.

She casually picked up a rib and took a bite without a single change in expression.

After all, her current weight was dictated by the system, not caloric intake.

Seeing this, Seraphina finally looked satisfied. "Exactly! There's no need to succumb to toxic beauty standards and starve yourself just for male validation. Losing weight too fast will ruin your health!"

Mika paused mid-bite.

In her previous life, she had desperately tried to lose weight because she was dangerously heavy.

And Seraphina had offered this exact same 'well-intentioned advice'.

"Don't let the patriarchy force you into serving their beauty standards. Who says you have to be skinny to be beautiful?"

Then, whenever Mika meticulously counted calories and worked out, Seraphina would enthusiastically bring her milkshakes and late-night pizza, demanding she eat every last bite.
