Having gotten a concrete time, Jude turned on his heel and left.
He dragged his nosy teammates away with him before they could swarm her.
Mika sat on her stool for over an hour. A guy in a basketball jersey who had been observing her for a while finally summoned the courage to approach.
"Hey, are you seriously offering free sports rehab? Are you... certified for this?"
Mika looked up, flashing him a warm, reassuring smile.
"Yes. I'm a sophomore majoring in Kinesiology. While I can't promise to fix everything, I can handle most common sports injuries."
"Thank God." The guy set his basketball aside, crouched down, and pulled off his sock.
"I sprained my ankle a week ago. I've been resting it, but it still shoots with pain whenever I run or jump, and I've got a massive tournament next month... Can you do anything for that?"
Mika grabbed her folding stool and stood up. "Let's head to the rehab clinic and find out."
The two walked over to the campus rehab center, where Mika spent nearly thirty minutes performing myofascial release on his ankle before guiding him through a series of mobility exercises.
Once the routine was complete, the guy tested his ankle, his eyes lighting up in astonishment.
"It actually feels way better! It used to hurt every time I rolled it to the left, but the pain is completely gone now."
Mika nodded. She sat at the clinic desk, scribbling something on a notepad as she gave him instructions.
"For the next week, repeat the mobility exercises I showed you today.
After that, follow this sheet for strength and stability training. By the end of the month, you'll be one hundred percent for your game."
The guy eagerly took Mika's handwritten 'sports prescription', beaming with relief.
"Seriously, thank you so much. What's your name, by the way?"
She looked him dead in the eye and enunciated clearly, "Mika Miller."
