That evening, on her way back to the dorm, Mika Miller received a system notification.
[Refund of $47,554 received from Lucas Lancaster. Current system balance: $47,740. Do you wish to proceed?]
"Not right now."
Mika dismissed the prompt and turned toward the registrar's office.
When she returned to the dorm at eight o'clock, Seraphina Sutton's bed was empty, and all of her personal belongings were completely gone.
Xanthe Zimmerman and Lily Davenport followed her gaze and immediately rushed over to gossip.
"Seraphina moved out. I heard she's staying with a classmate from the drama department."
"Mika, we heard all about what happened this afternoon. Honestly, we wanted to say this earlier—Seraphina never treated you like a friend. She just used you like a servant. It's a good thing you two had a falling out!"
"Exactly! We're totally on your side. From now on, it'll just be the three of us. We'll just ignore her."
They finished with eager smiles, looking at Mika expectantly.
But Mika merely shook her head and offered a pale, exhausted smile.
"Xanthe, Lily, I actually went to the registrar's office to apply for a room change too."
"What? Why?" Xanthe stared at her in shock. "You didn't do anything wrong."
"Yeah! She only left because she couldn't show her face here anymore. You don't need to move!" Lily chimed in.
But Mika simply changed into her slippers and sat down at her desk alone.
"After a scandal like this, if she's the only one who leaves, people might think our whole room bullied her out.
But if I leave too, it remains a personal issue between her and me. It won't drag you two into the mess."
"Well, okay..."
