The Golden Lycans (Ella) novel Chapter 9

Full Disclosure-Part 1

*Ella***

As I sit on the floor with my back up against the bending machine, I unwrap the chocolate bar and stuff half of it into my mouth. I close my eyes and enjoy something I know is good, that know is no rmal and real.

“Is everything alright, Ella?” a deep and oddly comforting voice full of concern says. I open my eyes to see none other than Austin, crouched down in front of me, indeed looking as concerned as he had sounded. I jump a little when I realise it is him, for I hadn’t really considered it; was he a Lycan t oo? His thick eyebrows certainly gave him a wolf-like appearance. I swallow my mouthful and

breathe in, staring at him for a moment before taking a quick peek at my watch…it is a few minutes before three o’clock.

I say nothing and instead I hastily stand up from the floor and adjust my uniform awkwardly. I start to wonder why I don’t feel afraid of him, and if anything, his presence is actually calming me down.

He steps into my personal space and I can smell his cologne…god, he smells so good. I breathe deeper and stare at him awkwardly for several long seconds. He is clouding my senses right now and I can’t think straight, but this isn’t unusual. I kept turning into a mess anytime he was near me like this.

“Seriously, are you okay? You really don’t seem okay. Is there anything I can do?” he asks again, kindly.

WHY did he have to be so nice?

WHY did he have to look and smell so good? Why couldn’t I tear my eyes away from his bright

green eyes, right now?

I had too many questions, mainly regarding my inability to function normally around this one rather off-limits guy….a guy who perhaps could turn into a giant wolf at the drop of a hat.

My mind was reeling and standing here staring stupidly at Austin isn’t helping even a little.

He leans even closer towards me looking at me fully in the face.

Say something. Say ANYTHING, Ella! I urge myself.

“Your grandad,” I blurt out suddenly. My eyes flicker briefly to his perfectly formed, full lips, then back up to his memorising green eyes and his strangely attractive, yet thick eyebrows.

Why was he especially enticing to me today? His eyebrows soon furrow in confusion at my strange outburst.

“What about him?” he asks slowly in confusion, still staring at me intently. I close my eyes and take a deep breath.

“Nave to go meet your grandfather in his office,” I announce, opening my eyes again but avoiding his gaze. He suddenly seems amused by this, a smile creeping in as he speaks.

“Oh really? And what trouble did you get into?” he asks, clearly thinking I was about to be reprimanded. I meet his fierce gaze once again with a little scowl and an air of defiance.

“Nothing! Why would you assume I’ve done something wrong?” I ask, frowning a little.

“Well,” he begins to say softly, putting his hand up against the wall beside me and leaning further in, “I figure there has to be something wrong with you, no one is this perfect.”
