The Great Medical Saint (Matthew) novel Chapter 927

After they passed by the outpatient facility and cafeteria, they finally found the deputy director's office inside the office block. Then, Pierre said, "I'll knock first."

Upon hearing that, Matthew sped up and burst out harshly, "Just kick it down. What's the fucking use of knocking?"

Just then, the door to the office swung open, and a woman walked out of it. Matthew stopped in his tracks and asked Pierre, "Do you know her?"

Pierre shook his head in reply and asked the woman, "Hello. May I know if the deputy director is in?"

The woman sized him up before she answered, "I'm the deputy director. What sort of business do you have with me?"

Pierre frowned and said, "Isn't the deputy director a man? Did they switch him out?"

The woman finally realized what he was talking about and said, "Oh, you mean Mr. Lemire? It's been a while since he stopped working here."

Pierre seemed to be a little disappointed with the result of his finding, but he asked, "Do you know where I could find him, then?"

The woman sported a bizarre look on her face as she questioned back, "Must you find him that badly? You could just come to me if you need anything now."

But Pierre didn't budge, and his voice was firm when he answered, "Yes. I have to."

Then, the woman sighed and pointed to the ground, saying, "Find him if you must, but you'd have to look for the grim reaper to get to him. He passed away."

Pierre stood stunned when he heard what she said. Never had he imagined Ebenezer would pass away so quickly. He then glanced at the hidden syringe in Matthew's hand and thought, "Ebenezer's luck indeed!"

Well, revenge was not an option now, but Pierre couldn't help feeling a little empty inside.

Now that Pierre went silent, the woman smiled and said, "If there's nothing else, I'll leave first."

However, Pierre blurted out all of a sudden, "How did he die?"

The woman then sighed and answered, "Quite disgracefully. There was a patient who passed away in the hospital, and he offered to compensate the family for it, but the patient's family wanted to file a lawsuit against the hospital for being irresponsible.

"From today onward, my name is called Pierre Davenport. I've gotten my new ID card, and I'm going to live afresh from now.

"25th February 2014—Sunny.

"I finally found myself a new job—I'm a doctor at Clemency Hospital now. During the department meeting today, the chief doctor especially recommended a type of medicine called Biconex-3.

"It was sold at 49 dollars and 80 cents per box and he said that it can't be found anywhere aside from the hospital.

"I thought it was the result of a recent technological breakthrough, and that the hospital had specifically invested in new advanced technology for the sake of the patients in the hospital and to keep up with times.

"I thought that all of the patients in Clemency Hospital were really lucky, and I felt even more honored to be working in this hospital.

"I curiously unboxed the recommended medicine and took out the ingredient list, taking a look at the ingredients listed. It included 15mg of diclofenac sodium, 15mg of synthetic bezoar, and 2.5mg of chlorpheniramine maleate.

"My back went cold—those were the exact same ingredients used in Nexcoldia! They merely changed the name of the drug and marked up the drug from 3 dollars per pack to 49 dollars and 80 cents per box!"
