The Great Medical Saint (Matthew) novel Chapter 932

The page ended there, and Matthew frowned once he finished reading it. He wondered what Pierre had experienced during the day to feel afraid even in his own home. He even wondered if Pierre suffered from any psychological damage.

Then, Matthew turned to the next page and continued reading. It was written:

"Everything that happened this morning felt like a scene from a movie that kept replaying in my mind like a broken record.

"When I arrived at the hospital in the morning, I received a call from my cousin. Devin Alvarado was Aunt Mila's son, and he was older than me by 15 years.

"He started working the moment he graduated from middle school, and he also got married early, so he had a 16-year-old son.

"I greeted him as soon as I answered the call. 'Hi, Devin.'

"Then, I heard his hoarse voice. 'Where are you, Cleeve? Have you arrived at the hospital?'

"Having heard his question, I felt uneasy all of a sudden. 'I'm at the hospital, Devin. What's wrong?'

"Devin spoke hoarsely, his voice laced with urgency. 'Quick… Come quickly… Come to the inpatient operating room now. I'm in Operating Room No. 5. I won't be able to explain it over the phone.'

"My mind buzzed in a frenzy, as if a thousand mosquitoes were swarming within my head. Something was up, but I didn't get to ask who it was.

"I then gave my colleagues a heads-up before I sped to the inpatient department. On the way there, my mind was jumbled into a mess, but I couldn't bring myself to imagine the worst case possible.

"I couldn't even wait for the elevator to arrive and ran all the way up to the eighth floor. When I arrived at Operating Room No. 5, I saw Devin sitting by the door of the operating room with reddened eyes.

"Then, I rushed up to him and tried to get him off the ground to sit on the benches by the side, but Devin wouldn't budge.

'Don't try to get me up. I'm sitting right here.'

"As such, I let go of my hands and asked tentatively, 'Who… Who's inside the operating room, Devin?'

"I didn't have the time to worry about this for now and went up to the operating room. Right before I landed my knuckles on the door to knock, I restrained myself and stopped.

"I was afraid that I would be disturbing the doctors inside if they were in the middle of a surgery. In the end, I could only wait outside.

"Time dragged on, with each passing second feeling like an eternity. I felt as if I was getting roasted over charcoal, like those barbecue skewers. It was far too agonizing to wait.

"Aunt Mila had treated me very kindly ever since I was young. She would always buy me food and frequently bought me clothes.

"I didn't even know what my biological mother looked like, but I treated Aunt Mila as my own mother.

"I waited for an hour. Two hours. Just like that, five hours had passed.

"I couldn't wait any longer, and I didn't have the energy to sit up straight on the benches either. That was why I joined Devin and sat on the ground.
