The Great Medical Saint (Matthew) novel Chapter 962

Carson still felt a little uneasy and spoke in a halting manner, "Well, uh, as the saying goes, traditional medicine has a long and storied history, and it's one of the oldest healing practices in human history.

"T-Today, I'll dive into some specifics, such… such the Eight Medical Sects, which are most commonly known in traditional medicine. The Eight Medical Sects consist of Frostbloom Sect, Medieval Sect, Presetian Sect, Fevera Sect, Thermodra Sect, Afflictan Sect, and Harmona Sect.

"Harmona Sect is one of them, and it's also my favorite Sect among the rest. Now, most people think that traditional medicine is merely an ancient traditional theory, but this narrow mindset is pretty hard to deny.

"Traditional medicine does contain elements of traditional theories, but that doesn't mean that it's all just some sort of fantasy, or that it's ineffective. Instead, I want to highlight the fact that it's very cure-effective, but the explanation behind how it works cannot be explained with modern science.

"However, the one sect that allows the highest possibility of explaining traditional medicine with modern science is Harmona Sect.

"Harmona Sect started off with traditional medicine as a foundational base, and it seeks to integrate modern contemporary medicine. However, it's quite misleading to call it modern medicine.

"Because, for example, back in 200 AD, bone scraping surgery and cesarean section were already founded. That's why it's wrong to call it modern medicine. It's merely because modern medicine has made major advancements in recent times.

"Frankly, I think we should consider referring to modern medicine as contemporary medicine because it's a form of medicine empowered by modern science.

"Not to mention that traditional medicine should absorb the insights from contemporary medicine to upgrade and refine itself so that we can strengthen traditional medicine."

The more Carson spoke, the smoother his flow became, and the more passionate his tone grew toward the end.

It was clear that he was fired up with excitement, a definite contrast with the doctors in the crowd. All the other doctors wore different expressions, some snorting, some shaking their heads, and even some hardening their expressions.

Still, a series of claps sounded from the silent hall, and as Francis clapped, he said with a smile, "Splendid! Truly impressive!"

Upon seeing Francis' support, Carson smiled and said, "Thank you!"

Then, Francis laughed and said, "Really, it's extremely impressive. Traditional medicine sounds like the martial arts world in the novels. The Eight Medical Sects, huh? Truly splendid.

"After all, the only criteria that can determine whether or not an industry is prosperous is your income. Your income will represent the current status of traditional medicine. So, let me ask you—how much do you earn per month?"

Facing such a question, Carson immediately felt embarrassed, because this particular aspect was his weakness.

If he didn't have the money he earned from renting out houses, he'd be relying on only his clinic as his source of income. There was no way he'd be able to support his family with just the money he earned from his clinic alone.

Noticing the expression on Carson's face, Francis began to deride, "Are you staying silent because you're not earning any money?"

When Carson heard what he said, his temper rose. "Who says I don't make money? I make close to 3000 dollars per month. It's all thanks to my medical skills too!"

Having heard what he said, Francis laughed aloud. "Only 3000 dollars? Aren't you ashamed to be calling yourself a doctor? Everyone, how much is your salary per month alone? Share it with us and let him know what it truly means to be a doctor."
