The Great Medical Saint (Matthew) novel Chapter 988

Matthew suddenly had a wild idea, thinking about the five seniors Nicholas had mentioned. "You told me the other five apprentices didn't complete their test, but I'm pretty sure no one came searching for the successors of Eight Medical Sects before me."

He just heard from Nicholas that they had failed their missions. When he went to collect the medical books and legacy items of the Eight Medical Sects, there was no trace of them. Something wasn't right.

Nicholas turned to Ansel. "Fill him in on it."

Ansel nodded and put a cup of coffee in front of Nicholas. "Enjoy your coffee. I'll talk to him about it."

Nicholas pointed at the table with his chin. Ansel understood right away and quietly put the coffee pot on the table where it was close to him.

Matthew watched the entire scene unfold. He was surprised to see Ansel show such respect to someone. He was even more curious about Nicholas' past and decided to find a chance to ask about it.

Ansel looked more neutral as he turned to Matthew. "Their tasks have nothing to do with the Eight Medical Sects."

Matthew was even more intrigued. "What's their mission then?"

Ansel chuckled. "The five apprentices have different missions. I'll start with an apprentice named Holger Polk, and his assignment is related to farming."

Matthew was taken aback. He was originally a farmer himself. Just the word "farming" from Ansel got him thinking about a lot of things.

Based on his missions, he couldn't help but ponder if farming involved sects too.

Matthew perked up right away, looking at Ansel and asking, "So, are there actually farming sects?"

Ansel replied with a grin, "Have you heard about the nine social classes?"

Matthew shook his head. He understood that people were ranked in a social hierarchy, but he didn't know the details exactly.
