The Great Medical Saint (Matthew) novel Chapter 990

Matthew approached his car when he heard heavy footsteps behind him. As he instinctively turned around, he froze in place, his gaze fixed on what he saw.

It was Tessa, but something was off. While her face remained the same, her body had grown about four inches taller, and her entire frame had expanded significantly.

Not only that, but her arms were also thicker, and everything from her legs to her waist had increased in size. Something felt distinctly wrong about her appearance.

Tessa spotted Matthew, and her mind commanded her exoskeleton to form a fist. The mechanical skeleton responded instantly, transforming her naturally slim hand into something massive, like an iron fist belonging to a giant.

A car horn suddenly blared, startling Tessa out of her focus. She realized a vehicle was speeding toward her, but her mind went blank with fear.

She stood frozen with one foot in the air, having forgotten to command her mechanical exoskeleton to move. The car whooshed past her, and she finally caught her breath, cold sweat running down her spine.

Tessa had been so focused on confronting Matthew that she had forgotten basic road safety. As she calmed down, she realized she could not act rashly with her current equipment. After all, she could punch through 70 layers of brick with a single blow.

If she attacked Matthew here, where people were walking by and even sitting in nearby cafes, someone would inevitably record it and post it online. The consequences would be unimaginable.

In that brief moment, she adjusted her strategy. Crossing the street, she called out, "Matthew, come with me. I need to take you somewhere."

Matthew glanced dismissively at her and got into his car. Tessa quickly approached and knocked on the window, the mechanical exoskeleton making the sound unnaturally loud.

"Tessa, I never want to see you again," Matthew said after rolling down the window, his voice filled with irritation. "Can't you just stay away from me?"

Tessa's face turned dark with anger. Matthew would show kindness even to homeless people on the street, yet here he was, showing her zero respect.

She silently gritted her teeth, planning to make him beg for forgiveness once they were alone.

"I need to discuss something with you," she stated, maintaining a stern expression.

Matthew frowned at the sound of her heavy footsteps behind him. It did not feel like Tessa was behind him—it sounded more like a giant.

Moreover, he thought Tessa couldn't have possibly gained so much weight in such a short time. As he thought of these, Matthew's suspicion only deepened.

In the elevator, Matthew studied Tessa's reflection in the stainless steel walls. Everything about her seemed wrong—her fist, though gloved, was far too large for her small hand. Her arms, too, looked unnaturally thick.

Tessa noticed his stare at the elevator wall, never once looking directly at her. She felt her hatred intensify and asked bitterly, "Won't you even look at me?"

"I don't want to dirty my eyes," Matthew replied coldly, still focusing on the wall.

Tessa clenched her teeth, thinking that his harsh words would make what was coming next all the more satisfying.
