To everyone's surprise, Finnegan actually had a nosebleed on the spot.
When Finnegan came to his senses and saw his own nosebleed in the mirror, his face flushed with embarrassment. “I've been having nosebleeds lately. It's definitely not because of you! Don't make any false accusations!”
Of course, Cindy wouldn't possibly believe him.
Clasping her hands tightly in front of her, she glared fiercely at Finnegan, “Disgusting!”
Finnegan still felt somewhat awkward as he wiped away the nosebleed.
However, he would absolutely not admit that he was somewhat shaken just now. “Put your hands down!”
If she could, Cindy really didn't want to do so.
However, given the circumstances, Cindy had no choice but to resign to her fate. She closed her eyes and lowered her hands.
Finnegan's eyes widened in an instant.
This woman does indeed beat my darling in this aspect. Whoever marries her in the future would indeed be a lucky man!
To prevent Cindy from getting angry again, which would consequently draw Bernice's attention, Finnegan quickly focused his mind and placed a golden needle on each of her sides. “Soak for half an hour, then come out and clean yourself up,” he instructed.
Having said that, Finnegan stepped out of the bathroom, casually closing the door behind him.
He feared that if he continued to watch, he wouldn't be able to stop a nosebleed.
Seeing Finnegan leave, Cindy felt somewhat relieved. “I thought this guy was just going to stand by and watch me soak.”
Half an hour passed quickly. After cleaning herself up, Cindy, her cheeks flushed, stepped out of the bathroom.
Finnegan cleared his throat and said, “Lie down.”
Everything has already been seen, so any further pretense would just be overly dramatic.
Suppressing her shyness, Cindy walked over and lay down.
Taking a deep breath, Finnegan pulled out the golden needles, methodically placing a total of eighteen on Cindy's body.
With the snap of a finger, the trembling needles chimed in unison.
A shiver ran through Cindy's body, and she felt a warmth in front of her. “Why does it feel a bit hot?”
As the treatment began, there was no mischief in Finnegan's eyes anymore. “It's normal for the area of illness to feel warm. You'll get used to it after a while,” he said.
He then took out another golden needle and placed it slightly below Cindy's lower abdomen.
“What are you doing?” Cindy asked indignantly.
With a playful smile, Finnegan said, “You'll find out soon enough.”
Subsequently, Finnegan moved aside and took out two small porcelain bottles from his person.
From a small porcelain bottle, a transparent, viscous liquid was poured out, resembling oil in its consistency.
After mixing the two liquids together, Finnegan returned to collect the eighteen gold needles that had been left behind, leaving only one in the lower abdomen.
“Now, I'm going to focus on massaging the area where your ailment is. Is that all right?”
Cindy's face had turned so red that it had lost its usual fairness.
Gripping the bedsheet tightly with both hands, she said, “Stop talking nonsense.”
He had already explained the treatment procedure before, so why is he asking me this now?
Cindy felt that Finnegan was deliberately teasing her.
Of course, Finnegan had no idea what Cindy was thinking.
He poured the medicine, blended as meticulously as essential oil, over her body. He then began to apply the massage techniques from the Primordial Pharmacopoeia, aiding Cindy in absorbing the medicinal properties.
At first, it was fine, but gradually, Finnegan's hands began to stiffen.
After all, he was a normal man, so he couldn't possibly remain calm all the time.
Cindy's feelings were even worse than Finnegan's. Her entire body was rigid, and she had nearly torn the bed sheets with her grip.
After an indeterminate amount of time had passed, Finnegan finally stopped and said, “Come in here with me.”
He had already entered the bathroom.
With her lips tightly clenched, Cindy trailed behind, her head bowed low.
Finnegan cleared his throat and moved to her side, “Don't get too worked up.”
Don't get too worked up?
“Lose control of her bladder?”
Bernice blinked in confusion. This was something Cindy had not told her.
Seeing her like this, Finnegan was also taken aback. “Wasn't she blaming me for not telling her in advance about the final outcome?”
Bernice's face turned beet red, “Cin was in such an embarrassing situation just now?”
It turned out that Bernice didn't know.
Finnegan said, “It was indeed quite awkward. The reason she screamed just now was because of this. I was even considering not telling you, to save her from embarrassment!”
“No, you're dodging my question.” Bernice nodded. But in the next moment, she tightened her grip on Finnegan's ear. “Why did you tell Cin that the massage therapy would only take twenty minutes, only to have it take a full fifty minutes in the end? Were you intentionally taking advantage of the situation?”
A smile tugged at Finnegan's lips. “When did I say it would only take twenty minutes? Depending on the individual, the time varies. For someone like Cindy, it would take about fifty minutes!”
After a pause, Finnegan suddenly realized, “I understand now, Darling. She was embarrassed about losing control in front of me, so she deliberately tricked you into confronting me.”
Bernice furrowed her brows. “Really?”
“I never said it would only take twenty minutes! I promise!”
Bernice let out a wry smile and released Finnegan's ear. “It seems that Cin is quite petty. She started causing trouble for you right after you finished treating her.”
“Exactly! If I had known earlier, I wouldn't have treated her!”
Bernice glanced at Finnegan, her expression subtly tinged with displeasure. “That's enough! Stop playing innocent after getting away with it.”
Chuckling lightly, Finnegan wrapped his arms around Bernice and asked, “I've told you before about the treatment method, and you said you wouldn't be jealous as long as Cindy doesn't mind it.”
Indeed, she had said those words herself, but Bernice still felt uneasy as she thought about it. “I really do make things difficult for myself. But you felt pretty good about it, didn't you?”
“To tell you the truth, it did indeed feel quite good.”
“Get lost! You're sleeping by yourself tonight!”
“Darling, you asked me a question, so I simply answered truthfully. You can't punish me for telling the truth!”
“I don't care! Get out!”
