Finnegan had a clear understanding of what was on Mandy's mind.
She was willing to do everything possible to get him.
Obviously, Finnegan knew why Mandy was gifting a car worth millions to Rhiannon.
With a glint in her eyes, Mandy replied, “Of course you can afford it. It's just that I noticed you didn't do anything after Rhia's car was wrecked. So, I thought of gifting her one. After all, it's not a lot of money.”
Is a few million really not a lot of money? Finnegan felt a lump in his throat, “You—”
“Finn!” Rhiannon interrupted him, “Mandy is giving me this car out of kindness. Why are you reacting like this? Besides, Mandy has already transferred the car into my name. I'm definitely going to accept it!”
Then she said to Mandy, “Thank you, Mandy. I'll be off to work now.”
Before Finnegan could react, Rhiannon had already jumped into the car and started it. With the press of the accelerator, she drove off in the new car.
Finnegan's eyebrows slightly furrowed, and he looked at Mandy.
He walked past her, suggesting, “Let's go. We can talk in your room!”
“Finnegan, we can chat here as well.”
“Enough talk. Just follow me.”
Mandy had no choice but to follow Finnegan inside. Then, she saw Finnegan head to the kitchen first, open the refrigerator, and take out an eggplant.
Her pupils abruptly constricted, and her red lips quivered.
The memory of the last time Finnegan reprimanded her surged into her mind.
Mandy didn't have time to worry about whether Finnegan would be angry or not. She hastily headed toward the door. “I suddenly remembered that I have a meeting to preside over at the Jadeborough branch office early this morning. Finnegan, whatever you want to discuss, let's do it next time.”
Finnegan shouted, “Come back to me!”
“I won't!”
Responding with a phrase, Mandy quickened her pace, running at an incredibly fast speed.
With a sullen expression, Finnegan tossed the eggplant back into the refrigerator. “Mandy, you're still as cunning as ever. Just don't let me catch you, or you'll learn the hard way what it means to suffer a double loss!”
No sooner had the words left his mouth than the phone rang.
It was a strange number from Durbaine.
Finnegan initially wanted to hang up, but when he noticed the number consisted of four sixes, he decided to answer the call. After all, typical telemarketing calls wouldn't use such a special phone number.
As soon as the call connected, a woman's calm and pleasant voice came from the other end of the line. “Is this Finnegan?”
It sounded vaguely familiar.
Finnegan replied, “It's me.”
“I'm Madison Zeller.” After confirming that it was Finnegan on the other end of the phone, the woman's voice became slightly more excited. “I thought Rhiannon was joking with me, but it turns out you really did come back. How about having lunch together this afternoon?”
The corner of Finnegan's mouth twitched. Rhia is getting me into trouble! Just last night, Madison was mentioned, and today, Madison had already called.
However, Finnegan didn't hesitate at all when he replied, “Hi, Madison. Long time no see. I'm busy at work this afternoon. I don't have any free time!”
Pausing for a moment, Finnegan added, “I won't have any free time in the upcoming period, but I'll arrange to meet you when I can.”
As Rhiannon had mentioned the night before, Madison, who was once the campus belle of Jadeborough High School, had indeed passed him a love letter.
On the eve of his mishap, she had secretly confessed her feelings once.
Since Madison had taken the initiative to reach out again, Finnegan naturally knew he needed to avoid her.
Madison chuckled bitterly and said, “Finnegan, no matter how busy you are, you still need to eat, right? I could—”
Suddenly, Finnegan interrupted Madison before she could finish speaking. “Someone is looking for me. Let's get in touch with each other another day.”
With that, he hung up the phone. It seems that not only does Mandy need a lesson, but Rhia also needs a warning. She has helped Mandy and Madison! Does she take her brother as a playboy?
Inside the largest dining room, Tyrone and Charlie were notably present.
Norman and Marisol intentionally gave up the main seat to Finnegan.
Understanding their intentions, Finnegan made no pretense of politeness and simply took a seat.
Marisol glared at Norman. “What are you still sitting around for?”
Norman gave a bitter smile.
Looking back, he took a document bag from Skylar's hand and handed it to Finnegan. “Dr. Larkin, thank you for curing my wife. This is a small token of my gratitude. It's Horizon No. 1 Villa in Jipsdale. You can stay there if you ever vacation in Jipsdale!”
Tyrone cast a complex glance at Finnegan when the former heard about the gift.
Horizon No. 1 Villa was undoubtedly a top-tier private mansion that could be ranked among the top ten luxurious houses in Jipsdale.
Compared to Finnegan's Dragon Bay No. 1 Villa, it was nothing short of extraordinary.
Finnegan calmly accepted it and handed it over to Alisha to hold for him, as if a private mansion worth billions was nothing out of the ordinary.
Norman and Marisol exchanged a glance.
Marisol then said, “Dr. Larkin, I have a small request. I wonder if it could be granted?”
Finnegan chuckled. “Mdm. Yeatman, if you have a request, just say it outright. Whether I agree or not is up to me.”
“Could Jacqueline be cured?”
That was their beloved granddaughter, the direct descendant of her and Norman. Naturally, they were still deeply attached to her.
Finnegan turned toward Jacqueline, whose face was filled with unease and eyes were brimming with hope.
He then shook his head without hesitation. “Some people are suited to be fighters, for they uphold justice and never use their power to bully others. However, some are not fit to be fighters, for they oppress the weak and act arrogantly. Therefore, I refused!”
