The Healing Avenger novel Chapter 366

The last time he treated her, Cindy was able to stir up trouble between him and Bernice even as she was leaving.

This time, however, she surprisingly didn't get upset when he saw her using the restroom.

This doesn't make any sense!

With a stern face, Cindy sat down and said, “Do I need to get upset over something meaningless?”

She had actually wanted to get angry earlier, only to find that her anger wasn't that intense.

After her last treatment, Finnegan had already seen her naked body completely, and she had even embarrassingly lost control of her bladder in front of him.

What happened earlier scene was eerily similar to that incident, so she simply couldn't bring herself to get angry at him.

As with many things and events, once they happened for the first time, the second time seemed to matter less.

Finnegan laughed, saying, “It does seem pointless indeed. It's not like I haven't seen your body before.”

“Shut up. I can contain my anger, but you're not allowed to say it!”

Finnegan was taken aback by her sudden reaction, silently clicking his tongue in surprise. It seems women prefer actions over words. Just like my darling!

Recalling that he had come to seek Cindy's help, Finnegan immediately put on a smiling face as he said, “As you wish, Cin. Whatever you say, goes.”

“Hmm?”

With suspicion in her eyes, Cindy looked at him and asked, “Are you plotting something?”

He actually called me Cin!

At the beginning, Finnegan always referred to her as Melons. If not, he would simply call her by her given name.

Could it be that he...

Upon a thought, Cindy placed her hands protectively in front of her, sternly warning, “Finnegan, even though you've seen my naked body and tarnished my honor, Bernie and I are best friends. I won't let you off if you dare mess around!”

Finnegan's lips twitched. “What the hell are you talking about? Since when did I ever tarnish your honor? I was treating you! Moreover, I'm not interested in you. I only came to seek your assistance.”

However, it seemed as if Cindy didn't catch the main point. “What did you say? You're not interested in me? Where did I fall short?”

Finnegan was momentarily speechless.

He then recalled a phrase he often came across online.

Women are creatures of contradiction. They won't allow you to harbor inappropriate thoughts about them, but you are also not allowed to be uninterested in them. Otherwise, they would think you are undermining their charm. Is Melons like that too?

Seeing as Finnegan remained silent, Cindy demanded, “Well? Speak up! How am I not good enough? Am I not attractive? What makes you uninterested in me?”

With a sense of helplessness, Finnegan said, “Why would I be interested in you? I am Bernie's man.”

Unwilling to accept it, Cindy huffed. “Being attracted is a man's instinct. Loyalty is a man's choice. Your loyalty to Bernie is expected, but your lack of interest in me is simply disrespectful!”

Finnegan flashed her a wry smile. “So you're saying that my loyalty to Bernie and my interest in you aren't contradictory?”

“How is it contradictory?”

Upon hearing this, Finnegan realized that Cindy was exactly the kind of woman he had imagined her to be. Women sure are creatures of contradiction!

With that in mind, Finnegan said, “In that case, I must admit that I'm interested in you. After all, you have such a great figure, and you're so full of charm.”

Only then did Cindy relax her expression. “But it's a pity that all you can do is look on with envy, even if you're interested!”

Against his will, Finnegan nodded in agreement. “Exactly. You are a beauty I could never attain, Cin.”

With a disdainful snort, Cindy said, “I knew you couldn't possibly be uninterested in me. Now, tell me, why did you seek me out?”

Such narcissism!

With a wry smile, Finnegan said, “Just like last time, I'm looking for you to create a facial composite. Do you have time now?”

“I knew it! You're just using me for free labor, aren't you? Hurry up; I have a meeting at ten!”

If Reynard had sent someone to make contact and probe, it would only arouse Cameron's vigilance.

With a sense of resignation, Reynard said, “All right; I'll expend some more energy to help you look into it.”

After ending the call, Finnegan left Cindy's office to see Bernice, only to find out that Bernice had gone to a meeting.

Finnegan had sent her a message before leaving Firebird Group, heading toward Jerome Medical Clinic.

Just as he had changed his clothes to treat patients, a call from Reynard came through.

A thought struck Finnegan, and he moved to the backyard before answering his phone call.

“I've found him. But is this person truly Cameron?”

Upon hearing that, Finnegan was certain that Reynard had found something special. “What's the situation?”

Reynard replied, “With the idea of giving it a try, I compared the photo portrait with the portraits recorded in Loang's civil registry, and immediately identified a person. He was from Jadeborough and had been engaged in scientific research for a foreign company for many years. It was only a few days ago that he returned to his home country. Furthermore, he's...”

At this point, Reynard let out a wry chuckle, seemingly at a loss for words. “Never mind. I'll send you the information. Take a look at it yourself,” he said.

Once the call ended, an encrypted message was immediately sent.

After reading the message, Finnegan's mouth twitched violently, “F*ck!”

He quickly called Reynard back: “Rey, you're not joking with me, are you? How could this be possible?”

“I was quite shocked too when I found out. So, should we send someone to probe if it's really Cameron? If he really were to conceal his talents, what would you do? Could it be that he had disguised his face?” said Reynard.

Finnegan sighed lightly. “This face can't be a disguise.”

When he had peered through, he had already made certain that Cameron's true face was just like this.

Reynard's tone grew serious as he asked, “Do you need my help since you're so sure about it? If it's inconvenient for you—”

Rubbing his temples, Finnegan cut him off, “Pretend you know nothing about this matter, I'll handle it myself!”
