“Hey, isn't this Mr. Genius? You weren't this arrogant before!”
“True to his reputation as Casper's lifelong good friend, he showed up.”
“Stop boasting. Aren't you afraid of biting your own tongue?”
Hunter, Zeke, and others reacted, mocking and showing clear hostility.
“Finnegan, how have you been all these years?” Madison approached with a hint of excitement.
“Fine.”
With an unnatural expression, Finnegan walked past her.
Directing his gaze at Hunter and the others, he questioned, “Dare you?”
Back in school, Finnegan disliked people like Hunter because they often followed Derrick to bully others.
Now that they were out in society, they still behaved the same way. Finnegan, however, was no longer as indifferent as he used to be.
Not to mention that the one they were bullying was Casper!
Hunter sneered, “It's been a few years, and the bookworm has changed. But do you have money? I heard your family has had a tough time recently!”
“Come here.” Finnegan called the waitress and handed her a card, saying, “Charge a hundred and fifty thousand to this card. Fifty thousand is a service fee, and bring me one million in cash!”
Instantly, everyone widened their eyes.
Hunter and Zeke couldn't help but exchange glances.
Did this guy strike it rich after disappearing for five years?
They gave Finnegan the onceover, but it was clear that he wasn't wearing any designer labels.
Zeke immediately let his imagination run wild. “Finnegan, we're all old classmates who know each other well. Aren't you afraid of embarrassing yourself by acting like this?”
“Go ahead.”
Finnegan couldn't be bothered to respond. After dismissing the waiter, he walked past them and approached Casper.
Casper was drunk, slumped as if he had lost all his strength. “Finnegan, I've troubled you again.”
Finnegan helped him up and seated him. “We're friends, so don't say that. Just sit down and relax.”
“Finnegan, you...”
With a hint of hope in her eyes, Madison walked over.
However, Finnegan raised his hand to interrupt her. “We can talk later. For now, I shall have fun with them on behalf of my buddy.”
Madison's expression stiffened, but she had no choice but to nod and sit aside.
Seeing the former school beauty obeying Finnegan's words, Hunter felt some jealousy. “Finnegan, not only are you full of yourself now, but you're also quite good at putting on a show!”
Zeke mocked, “If he likes to show off, then we'll just watch. I've never actually seen a million in cash before.”
Clearly, no one believed that Finnegan, who had once lost his entire fortune, could come up with a million.
Finnegan couldn't be bothered to respond and simply poured himself a full glass of liquor.
A moment later, the waiter returned with a man in his thirties.
The man was holding a black bag in his hand.
“Which gentleman was it that wanted a million in cash?”
Everyone was taken aback.
Isn't this Golden Archway's manager, Wilbur Norris? Why is he here?
The waiter pointed at Finnegan and said, “Mr. Norris, this is the gentleman.”
Upon hearing this, Wilbur hurried over to Finnegan as everyone stared at him in shock. He handed over the black bag. “Sir, here is the one million you requested. We did not charge any transaction fee. After all, you were just making an exchange.”
What? Did Finnegan really have a million?
Hunter and the others were instantly dumbfounded.
Where did he get a million from? Wasn't his family already bankrupt? Also, why does Mr. Norris look so nervous?
Finnegan nodded, accepting the black bag. “Would it be inappropriate not to charge a service fee?”
Wilbur stood beside Finnegan, bending over to refill his glass, appearing more like a waiter than the waiter.
Observing this, Madison looked both thoughtful and confused.
“Bring it on then!”
Hunter picked up the dice, tossed them into the dice cup, and began to shake it vigorously before letting it fall heavily.
The others also began to move, each in turn casting their dice cups.
Seeing that they had all finished shaking, Finnegan turned his head and said, “Mr. Norris, please shake it for me. This way, if I get extremely lucky later, no one can accuse me of cheating.”
“Sure!”
The manager, wanting to please Finnegan, readily agreed, shaking the dice cup a few times.
Finnegan gently swirled his glass, saying, “Let's begin.”
Hunter and the others each opened their dice cups. The results were rather disappointing. Except for Zeke who rolled three fours and a pair of fives, the rest didn't fare too well.
But they weren't worried at all. After all, if they lost, it would merely offset what Casper owed. If they won, they would have a hundred thousand.
Finnegan glanced at Wilbur.
The latter nodded, lifting the dice cup.
Many people at the scene immediately widened their eyes. “Good heavens! Five ones!”
In the game of poker dice, the highest roll was one!
Getting five ones was pretty rare!
Finnegan coldly scanned Hunter and others. “Clearly, I've won this round. Therefore, from this moment on, Casper owes you nothing. Whether or not you can take money from my hands later depends on your abilities!”
Zeke scoffed, “This is a game of luck. No one is afraid of you!”
Losing only meant drinking, while winning meant a hundred thousand.
He didn't feel stressed out at all!
