In the evening, Finnegan returned to Dragon Bay.
Theoden and Alisha were sitting in the living room.
Upon his return, they both stood up to greet him.
“Just sit.”
Finnegan waved his hand, signaling them to sit down. He walked to the other side and remarked, “But why do you both look even worse now?”
Alisha indignantly said, “Uncle George strengthened his defenses after receiving my call, but he was still attacked not long ago. Luckily, he had more men with him, and he only suffered minor injuries before help arrived.
Finnegan was not surprised by this.
The enemy was determined to take out all four sons of the Wahlstrom family.
Theoden asked, “Dr. Finnegan, did you find out anything when you went to the Wright family?”
Knowing what Theoden wanted to ask, Finnegan hadn't answered yet when Alisha's phone rang.
After the call connected, her expression changed abruptly as she reflexively stood up. “Grandfather, the Zymons family has just mobilized eight thousand people and they are currently heading towards Sparaville. As Uncle Dalton is dead, some of the officials immediately pledge their allegiance to Seth after learning of his arrival. Now, seventy percent of Sparaville is under the control of the Zymons family!”
Theoden's face darkened as he stood up. “These damned traitors, choosing to betray us at such a time. I shall order those from Juxshire—”
At the right moment, Finnegan spoke up. “Wait!”
“Dr. Larkin?”
Finnegan waved his hand to signal them to calm down. “Have you considered the consequences of rallying your forces now and declaring war with the Zymons family?”
Theoden and Alisha exchanged a glance.
The former thought of a possibility, furrowing his brows deeply.
The latter, however, hadn't considered the deeper implications. “Although Uncle Barry and Uncle Dalton's deaths weren't directly caused by the Zymons family, they are undeniably linked to them. Now, they are taking advantage of the leaderless situation in Sparaville to make their move. If our family doesn't retaliate, wouldn't we become the laughingstock?”
Finnegan countered, “Do you believe that if the Wahlstrom family takes action, the Zymons family won't need to lift a finger, and you will be finished?”
“How could that be possible?” Alisha seemed doubtful.
However, that possibility had occurred to Theoden.
With a sigh of frustration, he waved his hand. “Alisha, you may leave now.”
Alisha could only leave in frustration.
Theoden then inquired, “Dr. Finnegan, are you saying that once we take action, the backer of the Zymons family will crush us first?”
Finnegan nodded. “They can directly send people to attack you and your four sons. What's the point of using conventional means to crush you when you have a large number of people? And they can justify it! Therefore, it isn't suitable for your family to take widespread action this time. Otherwise, someone will intervene and plunge your family into the abyss!”
Thinking deeper along the lines of Finnegan's words, Theoden was shocked, breaking into a cold sweat.
Seeing that he had understood, Finnegan said, “Of course, large-scale actions are not advisable, but small-scale actions are still acceptable. Come over here!”
Theoden moved closer.
Finnegan whispered some instructions in his ear.
After hearing what he had to say, Theoden gave a thumbs up. “Dr. Larkin, you are truly remarkable!”
Finnegan waved his hand and said, “Enough, spare me the flattery. Hurry and make arrangements, then deal with the aftermath of your two sons. I'll support you in this matter!”
After Theoden had left, Finnegan went to check on Bradley's injuries.
“So, should we let the Zymons family take it from here?”
Hank shook his head. “The Zymons family is too useless. Help them a bit more. Anyway, before I go to Nuthana, the four states must be in the hands of the Zymons family, and the lineage of the Wahlstrom family must be completely cut off!”
“Will the Wright family intervene? After all, the existence of the Wahlstrom family is tacitly approved by the Wright family.”
With a light laugh, Hank said, “If the Wright family has any objections, do you think I dare to do this?”
Upon hearing this, Brutus nodded. “I understand.”
Subsequently, Brutus turned and left.
Hank continued to sit in place, leisurely sipping tea, appearing very relaxed.
But after a moment, Brutus returned, his expression serious, “Mr. Weatherby, something's happened!”
Hank raised his eyelids lightly, unfazed.
Knowing that Hank wanted him to speak, Brutus didn't dare to beat around the bush. “Several guild officials who surrendered in Sparaville were ambushed and killed. Four have died by now. In addition, several leaders of the Zymons family were also assassinated, all killed with a single sword strike. News from Gablurg also came. Members from the Zymons family were assassinated, and eight were killed.”
Hank chuckled, “He dared not to take large-scale action yet was unable to swallow this anger. So, he took this low-key but effective action. Theoden is quite something!”
Not only did he vent his anger over the deaths of Barry and Dalton, but he also deterred those who were eager to surrender.
Brutus spoke with a serious tone. “Should we reveal a bit more, so the Wahlstrom family doesn't even dare to retaliate?”
No sooner had the words left his mouth, than the phone began to ring.
After expressing his apology, Brutus answered the call, only for his face to drastically change. His voice suddenly rose. “What? Are you joking?”
