Upon returning to Dragon Bay in the evening, Finnegan immediately received a call from Bernice.
“Were you with Hailey tonight?”
Upon hearing it, he knew that Timothy had been trying to sow discord between them.
Finnegan waved his hand, signaling Hailey to leave first. He then headed toward Dragon Bay No. 2 Villa, saying, “Yes!”
Bernice became anxious when Finnegan responded so bluntly. “Finnegan, how could you be with a woman like Hailey? Have you forgotten how she framed you during Grandpa's birthday celebration? And she used to be with Liam. Have you forgotten all that?”
Finnegan said, “I remember.”
Bernice asked, “If you knew, why were you with Hailey?”
Some things can't be kept hidden forever.
Finnegan roughly explained the situation to Bernice and mentioned the reason for encountering Timothy that evening.
“So, that's how it was. If Hailey hadn't helped me back then, I would have been screwed by Liam.”
“To avoid any potential retaliation from the Sable family, I had no choice but to temporarily have her assist at Jerome Medical Clinic.”
“Are you sure you're not infatuated with Hailey's beauty?”
Finnegan couldn't help but laugh. “Darling, if we're talking about beauty, you surpass Hailey by far. Why would I settle for second best?”
Bernice said with a hint of skepticism, “I accept your explanation. But when can I move back to Dragon Bay?”
She wanted to return and keep a close watch to prevent Finnegan from being targeted by others.
Finnegan couldn't help but chuckle inwardly, noticing that Bernice was becoming increasingly anxious about losing him. “Wait a bit longer. The Wahlstroms haven't left yet. I'll let you know when they do!”
“All right, but you better watch out. If you mess around, I won't forgive you!”
After ending the call, Finnegan massaged his temples. “It seems I need to find time to settle these five marriage contracts.”
Bernice is already incredibly nervous.
If she were to find out that I have five fiancées, wouldn't the world turn upside down?
He entered Dragon Bay No. 2 Villa, and the Langdon family's bodyguards hurriedly greeted him, “Mr. Larkin.”
With a sigh, Finnegan asked, “Where is Ms. Langdon?”
“She's in the room.”
Finnegan nodded, then made his way directly to the outside of Mandy's room in the mansion.
To avoid walking in on another enchanting scene, Finnegan decided to knock on the door this time. Only after receiving a response did he step inside.
Mandy was sitting there, organizing her documents, unaware that the visitor was Finnegan.
“Perfect. Pour me a cup of coffee.”
With a playful demeanor, Finnegan walked over and asked, “Are you sure you want me to pour you a cup of coffee?”
Upon hearing the sound, Mandy instinctively stood up, causing the documents in her hands to fall to the ground. “How did you get here?”
Finnegan bent down to pick up the documents, only to find they were files from Regi Group. “What are you doing with these?”
Mandy replied, “The Langdon family has already invested in Regi Group. Shaun, however, is still not very knowledgeable about company management. When I have time, I need to help him review it to avoid any oversights.”
Finnegan nodded and set down the documents.
He had appointed Shaun and others to hold key positions in Regi Group, hoping that each family would lend their support from behind the scenes.
“Is Lindsey still here?”
Mandy replied, “She left in the afternoon, and she has taken everything you gave her.”
She paused before adding, “But she didn't go home. She boarded a plane leaving Jadeborough, heading straight to Doveston. It seemed that she went there to clear her mind.”
Are all modern women so unabashed?
“So, are you saying that Dr. Larkin and you all actually follow two different cultivation systems?”
“It should be so. Because up until now, I couldn't discern what realm Dr. Larkin had achieved!”
Remembering his greatest benefactor, Sawyer, Theoden asked playfully, “Could it be that Dr. Larkin is cultivating immortality?”
Spencer gave a faint smile. “That joke isn't funny.”
At that moment, Alisha hurriedly approached.
She said, “Grandpa, I just received news that Seth has ordered all of the Zymons family's elite to hold their positions and focus on defense. It seems like he is trying to secure Sparaville while also preventing further attacks.”
Upon hearing this, Theoden let out a cold laugh. “He still dreams of stabilizing and taking control of Sparaville? Let him keep dreaming.”
Finnegan opened his eyes, exhaled a mouthful of impure energy, and rose to his feet. “Always do the opposite of what one's enemy does. Starting tonight, we will dispatch forces to execute disruptive strategies, ensuring that the Zymons family's camp will know no peace.”
“Dr. Larkin, is this acceptable? Are you not afraid anymore?” Theoden asked out of curiosity.
Finnegan sat down and replied, “We're not initiating a major offensive, merely a small-scale disturbance operation. What's there to fear?”
Thinking that it made perfect sense, Theoden called out to Alisha, “Go, follow the instructions of Dr. Larkin. Starting tonight, dispatch people to harass the Zymons family in Sparaville and Gablurg. Leave them restless and unable to sleep in peace.”
After Alisha stepped back, Theoden asked, “Dr. Larkin, are there any other arrangements needed?”
Finnegan took the cup of coffee that Spencer had poured for him and took a sip. “Given the current situation, the Wahlstrom family can't take broad actions against the Zymons family, and it's also difficult for the Zymons family to encroach on the Wahlstrom family's territory. We can only wait!”
“Wait?”
Finnegan turned to gaze toward the north. “The Zymons family and the Wahlstrom family are at loggerheads. We can only wait for an opportunity to determine the victor.”
And that opportunity would be when Hank came to Nuthana.
Otherwise, the Zymons family and the Wahlstrom family would continue to be entangled like this.
After a moment of silence, Theoden said, “We will follow whatever arrangements you suggest, Dr. Larkin!”
