The Healing Avenger novel Chapter 397

On the way back to Dragon Bay, Finnegan spotted a seafood restaurant and asked Hailey to pull over.

“It's been a while since I've had seafood. Go find a place to park the car.”

Upon alighting from the vehicle, Finnegan immediately entered the seafood restaurant. He ordered some seafood, cooked it in a small pot, and started eating it with garlic sauce and chili peppers.

It was already late autumn, and taking another sip of the seafood broth was indeed a pleasure.

However, Hailey was nowhere to be seen even after he had eaten for a while.

Finnegan assumed she was waiting for him in the car. “Is this woman too submissive? I never told her she couldn't share a table with me.”

As he spoke, he found Hailey's number.

Just as he was about to make the call, her call came in first.

“Mr. Larkin, please, save—Ah!”

In the next moment, all that could be heard was a loud bang, followed by an eerie silence.

Finnegan put two hundred on the table and quickly stood up. “Here's the money. I'll be back to eat later.”

Immediately, he bolted out of the seafood restaurant.

Leaping over the central barrier of the road, he made it to the other side and then dashed into the entrance of the underground parking lot.

Just now, he had seen Hailey drive into this underground parking lot.

With all senses heightened, he quickly detected Hailey's presence on the third basement level.

He sped toward the nearly deserted third basement level. From around a corner, he faintly heard Hailey's voice. “Let me go, you b*stard!”

“Stop pretending. If you could sleep with Liam in the past, what's wrong with being with me now? I was already interested in you when you were with Liam. Now, you should be with me.”

“Let go of me!”

At the same time, Finnegan also heard a familiar male voice.

Timothy?

He narrowed his eyes and quickly rushed over.

Four of the Zimmerman family's bodyguards were standing outside, smoking and keeping a lookout.

Upon seeing him appear, the four individuals immediately recognized him. “Finnegan!”

Without uttering another word, Finnegan directly lunged forward. The four bodyguards from the Zimmerman family were instantly sent flying, wailing in distress.

Timothy, who was in the midst of his assault, suddenly snapped out of it and ran out. “Finnegan?”

Following behind, Hailey ran out, her clothes already torn to shreds, revealing large patches of her skin.

She threw herself directly into Finnegan's arms, not knowing whether it was out of genuine fear or she was just seizing the opportunity to be in his embrace. “Mr. Larkin!”

Upon seeing this, Timothy, who hadn't expected Finnegan to suddenly appear, sneered, “And here I was wondering how you'd suddenly become a dignified and chaste woman. Turns out you've been cozying up with Finnegan. But Finnegan, you're not playing fair. My cousin is the most beautiful woman in Jadeborough, and yet you dare to cheat on her behind her back?”

Finnegan narrowed his eyes and asked, “What happened?”

Hailey sobbed as she explained, “I had just parked my car and was about to leave when I saw him. Then he tried to force himself on me, even calling me a promiscuous woman.”

“Isn't that so?” Timothy said with a laugh. “Stop pretending. Come with me tonight. Soon, I'll be the president of Firebird Group, and I'll surely be more generous than Liam and Finnegan.”

He completely disregarded Finnegan.

Finnegan asked solemnly, “Timothy, your grandfather is still lying in the hospital, his life hanging in the balance, and yet you're here causing trouble. Are you even human?”

Timothy curled his lips and said, “Why should I care? I'm not a doctor.”

“Then did you not know that she was mine?”

Timothy said with a sly smile, “I really didn't know, but now I do. So, you better step aside quickly, or I'll tell Bernice.”

Just then, from where Timothy and Hailey had emerged, a weak voice from a man echoed. “Finnegan, kill him. Help me kill him!”

Hmm?

The voice was somewhat familiar to Finnegan.

He turned to look at Hailey.

The latter replied, “I'm not sure who it is either. But Timothy must have dragged him here to teach him a lesson!”

“You're in no position to make me laugh.” Finnegan indicated to Hailey to put him down. “What I want to know is, how did you end up in a feud with Timothy and even let him drag you here for a lesson?”

At the mention of Timothy, a hint of resentment once again surfaced in Jacques' eyes. “That despicable man!”

When he was in his heyday, Timothy was one of his disreputable friends. The two of them had often spent time together, eating, drinking, and having fun.

After his streak of bad luck, Timothy turned against him. Not only did he refuse to lend him money for medical treatment, but he also publicly humiliated him.

What infuriated him even more was that Timothy had not only stolen his two lovers but also brazenly flaunted them in front of him. He was even forced to crawl on his knees as if he were a dog.

And that night, he was intent on settling scores with Timothy, ready to vent his anger with a surprise blow.

But before he could even get close, he was spotted by the Zimmerman family's bodyguards. Subsequently, he was dragged by Timothy to the underground parking lot.

Finnegan chuckled. “Isn't it funny how the tables have turned? Now you can understand just how desperate the people you once bullied must have felt, can't you?”

Finnegan shook his head. He couldn't be bothered to say anything more, let alone express any sympathy.

He turned around and said, “Let's go. The seafood will be overcooked if we wait any longer.”

“Finnegan, wait up!”

Jacques stopped him.

Turning back, Finnegan asked, “Do you also want to settle scores with me?”

“No!” Jacques struggled to his feet, kneeling before Finnegan. “I need you to help me kill Timothy. I wish nothing more than to shatter this despicable villain who kicks a man when he's down into a thousand pieces.”

He despised Finnegan for ruining everything he had.

But what he resented even more was the humiliation he had suffered from Timothy after his downfall.

Finnegan looked deeply into Jacques' eyes. “Why should I help you?”

“Because I know you have conflicts with most of the Zimmerman family. You'd probably wish to have them dead.”

Finnegan cast him a playful glance.

He turned around and said, “Hailey, prepare some food for him and arrange a place for him to stay!”
