Halsey felt like an idiot.

In this relationship, she was the only one who had been running toward him.

Halsey pulled out her phone and scrolled to Shaun’s chat interface

Halsey curled her fingers nervously and sent back, [Thanks for today.]

Shaun saw her message and smiled faintly. [Can’t you say anything else?]

Halsey didn’t understand what he meant. Was he with Chelsea now? Or Warren? In the past, Warren had called her “Halsey“, but now it was “Ms. Halsey.”

[Am I bothering you? You don’t need to reply if you’re busy.]

Shaun caught the hint that she wanted to end the conversation. He chuckled softly and typed, [Going to sleep?]

Halsey replied simply, [Yeah.]

Shaun’s fingers tapped on the keyboard, answering, [But I’m not going to sleep yet.]

He couldn’t sleep.

Halsey wasn’t sure what he meant. If he were with Chelsea, he definitely wouldn’t be going to bed so early.

What were they doing together?

Today, when they were in the bathroom, his body had been so restless and eager. She had thought he had been alone for three years, without intimacy.
