Chapter 873
Halsey’s heart skipped a beat when he mentioned marriage.
“Who would I marry?” she asked without thinking.
Sure enough, that earned her a playful punishment. Shaun leaned and bit her soft, rosy lips.
“Ow!” Halsey winced. “That hurt!”
Shaun looked at her, heat in his eyes. “Good. Who do you wanna inrry?”

“Is there someone else besides me? I’m asking whether you’ve ever considered marrying me.”
Marrying him.
It all felt so sudden. They had only just made up. But then again, if not for what happened three years ago, maybe they would’ve already been married by now.
“Do you want to marry me?” she asked him back.
Shaun wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her close. “Yes, I do. What about you?”
What about her?
Halsey could hear the pounding of her own heart–it was beating so fast.
Shaun straightened up.
“Marry me. I used to have nothing, but now I’ve built a life. I can give you everything you deserve. I never dared to dream you’d actually marry me back then, but now, I want this. I’ve missed you every single day for the past three years. I couldn’t even sleep. Do you know what it’s like to long for someone that much? I’ve never felt this way about anyone before. I love you so, so much.”
He was confessing his love for her.
With the warm steam surrounding them from the shower, his voice came low and hoarse, just above a whisper, because Bella was still nearby. But that deep, raspy voice right in her ear completely broke down her defenses.
He was pouring out three years of longing.
He said he loved her very much.
Halsey looked into his eyes. They were burning with emotion, so intense it felt like she might melt.
Shaun gently cupped her face in his hands. “Will you marry me?”
She could hear her heartbeat racing like crazy. Inside, she was screaming yes.
Halsey nodded. “I will!”
She wanted to marry him. She wanted to be his wife.
Shaun leaned down and kissed her, giving her a deep, passionate kiss as his answer.
Halsey threw her arms around his neck and kissed him back just as eagerly. “Once we get the Snowpeak Bloom, and your face is healed, let’s get married.”
Shaun nodded. “Alright. My face will get better, and I’ll look just like I used to–the way you loved.”
Halsey wanted to tell him that she already loved him just the way he was now. His face didn’t matter.
