Halsey replied to the owner, “We’re not here on vacation. We came looking for something.”

“What are you looking for? Maybe I’ve heard of it.”

“We’re searching for the Snowpeak Bloom.”

Halsey’s eyes lit up. “Really? That’s amazing! Do you have a way to contact this Mark? We want to buy the Snowpeak Bloom from him, whatever the price!”

The owner smiled. “I’ve got his number. I’ll call him for you right now.”

He pulled out his phone and made the call.

Halsey looked at Shaun with excitement. “Did you hear that? We got here at the perfect time–there’s a Snowpeak Bloom!”

Shaun reached out and gently pinched her cheek. “Look how happy you are.”

“Of course, I’m happy.”

After finishing the call, the owner said to Halsey, “I told Mark you wanted to buy the Snowpeak Bloom at a high price. He’ll be here this afternoon to meet with you.”

“Thank you so much,” Halsey said with a bright smile. “We’ll wait for him.”

She and Shaun went back to their room. Halsey said, “I can’t believe how lucky we are. No matter what price Mark asks, we’re buying that Snowpeak Bloom.”

Shaun nodded. “Alright.”

Afternoon came quickly. Halsey and Shaun stood outside the guesthouse, waiting for Mark. Halsey was full of anticipation. But they waited, and waited—but Mark never showed.

The owner looked puzzled. “Huh, it’s already the time we agreed on. Wonder why he’s not here yet?”

Halsey frowned. That flower was far too important. She couldn’t afford for anything to go wrong.

“Could you try calling him again?” she asked the owner. “Just to check in.”

“Sure.” The owner nodded. “I’ll do that right now.”

He took out his phone and dialed. The call went through quickly. “Mark, where are you? They’ve been waiting for a while. They want to pay a high price for that Snowpeak Bloom you have. What? You’re not selling it anymore?”

Not selling it?

Halsey’s expression changed. She quickly stepped forward. “Is it about the money? We’ll pay whatever he wants–just have him name his price!”

The owner relayed the message. “Did you hear that, Mark? They’re serious about buying it. You can name your price. What? You already sold it to someone else for a high price?”

Halsey felt her heart sink. He sold it to someone else?

“Can you ask who he sold it to?” she said quickly. “That flower is really important to us!”
