Chapter 888

Just then, Calvin walked over.

“Hi, Halsey. What a coincidence, running into you again.”

Halsey really did think it was a strange coincidence-they’d also bumped into each other last time at a restaurant.

She smiled. “Hi, Calvin. Let me introduce you-this is my best friend, Wendy Crone.”

Calvin nodded politely. “Nice to meet you, Ms. Crone.”

Wendy returned the greeting. “Hi.”

Halsey asked Calvin, “Are you here for dinner too?”

He nodded. “Yeah.”

Right then, Wendy tugged on Halsey’s sleeve. “Mr. Lane’s here.”

Shaun had arrived.

Halsey’s heart started racing when she heard his name. It had been a whole month since she last saw him.

She turned around and saw a tall, striking figure at the entrance-it was Shaun.

Tonight, he was dressed in a tailored black suit. Broad shoulders, narrow waist, long legs—his model-like figure made him stand out. And this time, he wasn’t wearing a mask. His handsome face was completely visible.

Halsey stared at his face. It had completely healed. In fact, he looked even more attractive than before.

It was the kind of charm that came from a successful, mature man. His features looked even sharper and more defined, making anyone’s heart skip a beat.

As Shaun stepped inside, the people in the restaurant all turned to look at him at once.

A group of young women squealed excitedly, “Oh my god! He’s so hot!”

“That’s Mr. Lane, the rising star in the business world. He’s rich and good-looking!”

“I’d totally have his babies!”

Halsey couldn’t help smiling. She was genuinely happy for Shaun. She was proud of him for finally making it through.

Looking at his face now, she felt like all the pain and sacrifice had been worth it.

Calvin noticed him too. “No wonder Mr. Lane used to wear a mask all the time. He’s really good -looking, the kind that makes you want to scream.

Calvin was a scholar. He didn’t have anything against Shaun, and now he didn’t hold back his compliments, either.

Wendy glanced at Halsey. “So? What do you think?”

Halsey nodded. “He looks great. Thank you.”

“Silly girl, he was always hot. His face has always looked like that.”

That was true. Shaun, or Dwight, had always looked like that.

Soon, a few more people appeared around Shaun. Halsey recognized two of them-Chelsea and Warren—along with a few company executives. It looked like they were all here for dinner.

And now, Chelsea was right by Shaun’s side.

Shaun, Chelsea, Warren, and the others started walking in their direction. The restaurant wasn’t big, so naturally, they ran into each other.
