Chapter 905
Halsey’s mind was a complete mess. She couldn’t think straight. Shaun had suddenly gotten so affectionate.
Why?
They had already broken up. What was he trying to do?
She mumbled softly, “Go find someone else -”
Before she could finish, Shaun gripped her chin tightly, his eyes dark and sharp with desire. “Who do you have in mind?”
He could find anyone. Chelsea. Geneva. Anyone he wanted.
But his grip tightened as he growled, “Say it.”
Halsey didn’t dare speak. The look in his eyes made him seem almost dangerous.
Shaun stared into her face. “Since we broke up… I haven’t been with anyone else.”
Halsey’s heart skipped a beat. What did he mean?
“I haven’t touched another woman,” he said.
Halsey was stunned. He hadn’t even touched Chelsea?
Shaun pressed his thumb against her lips, rubbing hard. Back and forth, again and again, until her lips lost color and then flushed again, vibrant and soft. The sight made his breathing unsteady.
His voice was rough and low. “Will you come over tonight?”
Halsey was overwhelmed. Her thoughts were tangled and foggy. After hesitating for a few seconds, she shook her head. “No.”
Shaun’s chest rose sharply with frustration. He leaned in and bit the corner of her lip.
“Ow…” She winced from the sting.
He finally let go, his voice rough and threatening. “Don’t play games with me. I’m warning you-don’t think I’m easy to mess with.”
She stared at him in confusion. What was he talking about? She hadn’t done anything to him.
Just then, Madeline’s voice came from nearby. “Halsey? Shaun? Where did you go?”
Halsey didn’t have time to ask questions. She quickly shoved Shaun away, fixed her clothes, and walked out in a hurry. “I’m here!”
“Where did you disappear to? Wait-what happened to your lip?”
Halsey panicked. “I-I bumped it by accident.”
Madeline raised a brow. “How do you even bump just your lip?”
She clearly didn’t believe it.
Halsey quickly grabbed her arm. “Come on. Let’s eat dinner.”
The two of them sat down at the table.
Madeline shot her a teasing grin. “Shaun kissed you, didn’t he?”

Chapter 905
Halsey stayed silent.
“I’m not a kid anymore, you know,” Madeline added. “You don’t have to pretend.”
Without a word, Halsey picked up a piece of fish and stuffed it into Madeline’s mouth. “Shut up and eat!”
Meanwhile, Shaun stood in the kitchen, letting the cool air blow over him. In his current state, he couldn’t go out just yet. Maddy might be older now, but there were still things she didn’t need to see.
He pulled out his phone and opened a message from “cute_potato”. Halsey’s flirty confession was still on his screen. His lips curved into a faint smile.
He could wait a night. There was still tomorrow’s date.
