Halsey quickly lifted both hands and pressed them against Shaun’s chest, trying to push him away. “Don’t do this…”

“Don’t do what?”

Shaun turned slightly and backed her up against the counter, his body closing in on hers.

His firm, lean figure pressed tightly against her, the air between them suddenly thick with tension and heat.

Shaun stared down at her delicate face, his voice low and hoarse. “You don’t like it when I kiss you?”

Halsey’s eyes widened, stunned that he would ask something like that. What had gotten into him?

Shaun took her hand and placed it on his face, holding her gaze. “Do you like how I look now?”

Her mind was spinning. Was he seriously asking if she liked the way he looked?

He reached out and gently pinched her cheek, forcing her to look directly at him. “Tell me.”

“Tell you what?”

“Tell me, am I good-looking, or not?”

As if he needed her to answer that. Didn’t all those girls circling around him prove it?

Still, Halsey gave a small, honest nod. “You are.”

A faint smirk tugged at Shaun’s lips. He was clearly pleased. Without warning, he leaned down and kissed her again.

Halsey immediately tried to push him away, but it didn’t work. His kiss was strong, intense, almost overpowering. He pried her lips open and claimed her mouth with his.

Her body melted as she completely gave in. That kind of instinctive attraction was terrifying—she couldn’t deny how much she craved his touch.

It was the same for Shaun. The moment Halsey got close, his body reacted, almost automatically, needing her.

His kiss deepened, tasting her sweetness. His right hand, the one wearing a sleek designer watch, slipped under the hem of her shirt.

Halsey let out a soft whimper, her knees giving way beneath her.

Shaun caught her, holding her tight against his chest. His lips moved to her ear, his voice husky. “Why did they get so much bigger?”
