Chapter 920

Shaun called Halsey “honey” on purpose.

His voice was naturally low and magnetic, but when he leaned in close and whispered that in such a soft, teasing tone, Halsey’s knees nearly gave out. She hated how weak she was to his voice.

The pharmacy owner rarely saw such a good-looking couple. She smiled brightly. “You two are adorable together!”

Shaun wrapped his arm around Halsey’s shoulders and raised a brow. “Of course. I love my wife very much.”

Then he looked down at her and added, “Do you love me, babe?”

Halsey saw the mischief dancing in his eyes. He was doing this on purpose-just messing with her.

His hand tightened slightly on her shoulder. “Do you love me or not?”

The owner was staring at her now, clearly enjoying the drama.

Halsey had no choice but to force a polite, if awkward, smile. “I do.”

Shaun pushed further, “Who do you love, hmm?”

He was getting way out of line!

Halsey shot him a fierce glare.

Shaun’s smile only widened. “Say it, honey. Who do you love?”

Halsey took a deep breath, then gave in and muttered, “I love you, honey.”

Shaun gulped, his gaze heating up as it locked onto her. Halsey met his eyes and flipped the script.

“What is it, honey?” She deliberately sweetened her voice, blinking at him with a sugary smile. “Honey, I love you sooo much!”

Shaun’s arms tightened as he pulled her hard against his chest. If the pharmacy owner hadn’t been standing right there, he might’ve really lost control.

The woman behind the counter was nearly in tears from laughing. She finally handed over the morning-after pill. “Here you go.

Shaun paid for it and walked Halsey back to the car.

Once they were inside, he held out the pill in his palm. “Take it now.”

Halsey stared at it. There was no way she could take it.

She reached for it anyway. “I’ll just hold onto it. There’s no water here-I’ll take it at home.”

Shaun immediately said no. “Nope. You’re taking it right now, in front of me.”

He wanted to make sure she actually swallowed it.

Halsey froze. “I really can’t swallow it without water.”

Suddenly, Shaun reached out and pinched her cheeks, pulling her face close to his. “Are you stalling? Do you just really not want to take this pill?”

Their faces were now so close that their breaths mingled. He was pressuring her, pushing her to take the pill, and it had her completely panicked.
