“What? Why? Didn’t Halsey break up with Shaun? That was your chance-why didn’t you take advantage of it?”

Chelsea tightened her grip on the phone. “They’re back together.”

What?!

Gilbert nearly jumped to his feet. After all the scheming he’d done with Chelsea, and it was all for nothing?!

“How did they end up back together? No. I’m not letting that happen. If I can’t have what I want, then no one else should either!

“Gilbert roared.

“I feel the same way,” Chelsea said coldly. “I don’t want them to be together. So you’d better come up with a new plan, and fast.”

Gilbert’s voice dropped to a dark murmur. “Got it. I’ll figure something out.”

Halsey woke up when she had had enough sleep. She stretched gently as her long lashes fluttered open.

The first thing she saw was Shaun’s handsome face. She was still in his arms, and he was reading through a stack of documents.

Her brain went completely blank. The last thing she remembered was falling asleep on the couch. How did she end up sleeping in his arms?

Halsey quickly sat up straight. “You’re done with your meeting?”

Shaun looked up from his paperwork and met her sleepy, pretty gaze. “I finished a while ago. Do you have any idea how long you were asleep?”

She glanced at the time and panicked. Two hours had passed.

She had been asleep in Shaun’s office for a full two hours. No, worse-she had been asleep in Shaun’s arms for two whole hours!

“I’m sorry. I was just really tired.”

Shaun put down his papers and leaned lazily against the back of the couch, giving her a half-amused look. “I never realized you could sleep like that. Since when did you turn into a koala?”

Koala? When did she become a koala?

She was just pregnant, which made her sleepier than usual!

Halsey glared at him. “I only slept that long because of you! And you have the nerve to tease me about it!”

“Because of me?” Shaun asked.

Without warning, he slipped his arm around her waist and gave a quick tug, pulling her right into his chest.

Halsey froze. Her hands immediately pressed against his chest to stop him. “What do you think you’re doing? We’re in your office! If you try anything, I’ll scream!”

Shaun raised a brow. “Scream what, exactly?”

“I’ll scream for help!” Halsey snapped. “I’ll tell everyone you tried something on me. Let’s see how you hold your head up after the whole company hears about it!”

Shaun just grinned. “Go ahead. I’m not scared.”

Halsey stared at him, speechless. He was so shameless!
