The Heartbreak Prescription novel Chapter 942

Chapter 942

Halsey was pregnant now, and coffee wasn’t something she should be drinking.

Warren grew anxious. He hadn’t expected Halsey to suddenly refuse it. He quickly pushed her to drink it. “I ordered that coffee just for you. Are you just trying to piss me off?”

Halsey replied, “That’s not it. I just don’t want to drink it because I-

She wanted to explain she was pregnant, but Warren cut her off.

“Sounds like you’re just trying to embarrass me. If you’re not, then drink the damn coffee!”

At that moment, Gilbert and Chelsea were hiding in a corner of the restaurant, keeping a close eye on Halsey and Warren.

When they saw Halsey bring the cup to her lips, they were thrilled. But when she suddenly set it back down, their hearts sank.

“Why isn’t she drinking it?” Gilbert muttered.

Chelsea frowned. “Damn it! She’s pregnant. Of course she’s not going to drink coffee. We should’ve ordered something else.”

Gilbert’s expression darkened. “If she won’t drink it, then we’ll have to take matters into our own hands.”

“What are you thinking?” Chelsea asked.

“We grab her,” Gilbert said coldly. “There’s no one else around. We take her by force and get her on that operating table.”

Chelsea nodded. If Halsey wasn’t going to cooperate, they didn’t have a choice.

Back at the table, Halsey narrowed her eyes at Warren’s overly tense reaction. Her suspicion was growing. “Why are you so worked up about me not drinking a cup of coffee? Unless…something’s wrong with it?”

Warren’s eyes flickered with guilt. “I…”

Halsey stared at the cup. “Did you put something in it?”

“L…”

His silence said it all. Halsey had her answer.

She stood up at once, her face furious. “You actually drugged my coffee? Does Shaun know about this?”

Warren looked uneasy. He hadn’t wanted to go through with it in the first place.

“I’m his best friend! I couldn’t just sit back and let you ruin his life!”

Halsey’s gaze was cold. “Are you so sure I’m the one ruining him?”

“I know it’s you! Who else could it be?”

Halsey realized there was no point in talking further. If he wanted to think the worst of her, fine. She would prove the truth herself.

“I’m leaving.”

She turned to go.

Warren stepped forward. “Halsey!”

Halsey’s steps froze when someone stepped into her path-Chelsea.

And she wasn’t alone. She was flanked by a group of men in black suits.

Chelsea blocked Halsey’s way. “Where do you think you’re going?”

Halsey stared in shock. “What are you doing here?”

Then she turned and looked at Warren. “So you two planned this together?”
