Chapter 102
Trista’s POV
My eyes instantly burned hot.

I bit down hard on my lip, refusing to cry in front of him. “Since you choose to believe her, why bother asking me?”
We stared at each other.
Finally, he was the one who broke contact.
Cassian shoved me away, his voice cooling further. “If there’s nothing to say, then don’t say anything.”
I stumbled back several steps, my back hitting the ward wall. The faint outline of the barrier shimmered, mocking my wolf and my position.
Attwater saw me pushed and his eyes instantly turned savage red.
Ignoring the pain in his wrist, he violently ripped himself from Cassian’s
With a “crack,” his joint dislocated.
Cassian’s eyes widened in shock, and he instantly let go.
grasp.
Attwater cradled his arm, his face contorted in pain. He staggered, nearly collapsing.
“Attwater!”
Cassian and I moved forward simultaneously.
The next second, I shoved Cassian back, the force large enough to feel like I was tearing the thread of our mating bond.
I grabbed my brother’s arm, my voice catching painfully. “Attwater, don’t worry, I’ll take you to the healer-”
His face was paper white, but his eyes were terrifyingly red. “Trista, when I grow up, I swear I’ll get back at him for you!”
I couldn’t hold it in anymore. Tears streamed down, scalding my skin.
I was crying raggedly. Cassian walked up to me, his voice softening unconsciously. “Trista, don’t cry. I lost control of my strength. I’ll contact the best healer for Attwater right now-”
I looked up at him, unable to stop the flow of tears.
My lips trembled. I managed a pull at the corners of my mouth, giving him a self–mocking smile.
The harder I smiled, the more furious the tears became.
It felt like all my dignity had been shredded by his words, “She wouldn’t do that.”
Chapter 102
Cassian looked at me, his eyes showing a pain that bordered on suffocation.
But I didn’t utter another word.
I helped Attwater turn and leave the ward.
Since he chose to believe Samantha, choosing to silence me–then I had nothing to say.

Cassian followed us to the doorway, “Trista, let me take you to the best healer. He’s in the emergency room
Samantha suddenly clutched her stomach, her voice high and pinched. “Cassian, my stomach hurts so badly
I saw Cassian’s hand, stretched toward me, freeze, pulled back by her sudden cry.
He withdrew his hand, turning back to the bedside to gently help Samantha sit up.
He looked across the doorway at me, his tone making a reasonable division of labor. “Samantha is frail. I’ll have the healer check her first. Attwater’s injury is likely just a dislocation. Take him to the emergency room for treatment. I’ll find you later-”
Attwater was so enraged he kicked the door, his voice breaking into a wolf pup’s snarl. “Trista and I never want to see you again!”
I held Attwater’s trembling arm and didn’t look back.
I meticulously suppressed the acid burn in my throat, locking it, along with the chaotic wolf in my chest, firmly behind my ribs.
The healing center hallway barrier glowed faintly under the overhead lights, an invisible mesh smoothing out the spilling pheromones.
I helped Attwater out of the ward area.
His breathing was rapid. The young wolf’s instinctive aggression after being injured was still surging–his pheromones were sharp with a metallic tang, erupting in fitful bursts, only to be stopped by the emergency room’s purification array, like a fire being choked.
Half an hour later, I helped him out of the emergency treatment room.
The healer had successfully reset his dislocated joint. My parents, worried sick, had also rushed to the healing center.
I handed Attwater over to them, keeping my voice as steady as an emotionless explanation. “Mom, Dad, take Attwater home first. I need to settle the bill and pick up the medication.”
Ulva frowned, looking at Attwater’s wrist, her tone heavy with anxiety. “We’ll wait for you by the entrance.”
After collecting the medicine, before leaving, I walked back to Samantha’s ward.
I stopped at the doorway and saw Cassian quietly asking the healer about Samantha’s injuries, his expression meticulous, confirming every detail of her recovery cycle.
