The Heartbroken Luna's Choice Banish Love novel Chapter 206

Chapter 206

Third Person’s POV

Fimsted

Cassian lunged toward Howard, violently pulling Trista up from the cold floor. A volatile, suffocating Alpha aura radiated from him.

Grandfather, his voice was a raw rasp that left no room for argument. I am protecting Samantha and Algernon, period. But if you think I’m dissolving my mating with Trista, you’re dead wrong. It’s not happening.

Alaina stood nearby, her eyes frozen over with disdain. If you insist on playing savior to that rogue and her brat, you must break the mating. You don’t get both.”

Mom!Cassian lost it, a strangled roar escaping his throat.

Samantha shrunk into the shadows, her head bowed in humiliation.

She knew exactly what was happening. Cassian was only acting this protective because he felt he owed her- he didn’t want Howard to finish her off like he tried to six years ago.

But it was also clear as day that Cassian had developed a desperate, clawing attachment to Trista. Even with his entire family hunting him down, he refused to let go of her seat as Luna.

Samantha felt a shiver of genuine fear.

Luckily, when Trista had baited her earlier, she hadn’t been stupid enough to admit her ambitions.

If she had shown even a hint of wanting to steal the Luna title, the hyp

would never have let her stay.

and paranoid Cassian

Cassian, you’re the Alpha of Ironthorn,Howard barked, leaning on his cane. This Samantha is nothing but a rogue. And Trista? She’s too soft, too weak. A descendant of a fallen pack can’t hold the line as Luna of Ironthorn.

Cassian stood his ground, his eyes bloodshot. Samantha is innocent. Just let her leave, Grandfather. Now.

Alaina let out a sharp, mocking laugh that cut like a razor. Oh, Samantha is innocent? Then what about Trista? The woman you publicly humiliatedis she just supposed to shut up and take it?

Howard hammered his cane against the floor, delivering the final ultimatum. If you’re dead set on keeping Samantha, go to the Council and sign the papers today. Then find a shewolf from a powerful pack and start

over.

Cassian’s response was instantaneous and defiant. I don’t care how much you push me. I am NOT giving up Trista!

Samantha kept her head down, her nails digging into her palms until her knuckles turned white.

Why?

Why was it that even if Cassian started a second bond, she would still be the one hidden in the shadows, a nameless accessory?

Chapter 200

Why did this old man treat her dignity like trash?

Weighing the risks, Samantha found a flicker of desperate courage and stepped forward.

Howard, she started, puting on a show of selfsacrifice. Even though Cassian and I share a bloodline, I never expected to be his mate again. I only stayed for Algernon. I crossed a line tonight, and I’ll take whatever punishment you see fit.

Trista watched this and closed her eyes in sheer exhaustion.

Cassian was willing to break pack laws and risk his life for this shewolf, yet Samantha didn’t even have the spine to stand beside him.

It was clear now: she couldn’t rely on Samantha to force the divorce. She needed a different exit strategy.

Howard didn’t even look at Samantha. He just signaled his omegas.

Several elite guards stepped forward, their faces grim.

Take this shewolf,Howard commanded. Drop her on the island for rogue prisoners. Let her rot there.

The color drained from Samantha’s face. She let out a terrified shriek and scrambled behind Cassian’s massive frame, clutching his shirt like a lifeline.

Cassian’s fists clenched, his Alpha aggression hitting a boiling point. Grandfather, don’t make me move against my own guards in this house.

You arrogant brat!Howard roared, his eyes full of lethal fury.

Seeing that Cassian was about to start a bloodbath with the estate guards, Trista didn’t hesitate. She stepped forward like a fragile but unbreakable shield, standing right in front of Cassian.

To get that divorce, she had to show Samantha she was serious. She had to make everyone believe she was on Samantha’s side.

Trista shoved Cassian toward the door, her voice urgent as she grabbed Samantha. Go! Both of you, get out of here while you can! I’ll hold them back!

Cassian stared at her back, his eyes a mess of suspicion and whitehot rage. Trista, I don’t know what game you’re playing now, but you are leaving this house with me. NOW!

Trista slammed her body against the heavy oak doors, physically barring the guards and forcing Cassian and Samantha into the hallway.

She looked at him through the closing gap, her voice steady and final. I promised I wouldn’t let your favorite woman get hurt. Cassian, I keep my promises.

They locked eyes one last time through the crack of the door. Then, Trista slammed it shut. The sound of the deadbolt clicking home echoed through the hall.

TRISTA!
