The Heartbroken Luna's Choice Banish Love novel Chapter 219

Trista gestured for Samantha to sit before turning to Cassian with a shrug. I ran into Samantha on my way over. Since she was sweet enough to play delivery girl for your meds today, I figured I’d return the favor and invite her to join us.”

Cassian’s eyes darkened, a lethal Alpha aura radiating from him that made even the low- ranking wolves in the far corner of the restaurant feel like they were being suffocated.

This was supposed to be our date,he gritted out, his jaw locked tight.

Trista gave his back a patronizing little pat, the way you’d calm a temperamental Great Dane. It’s fine, she said flatly. You might as well get used to this threepersonlifestyle. It’s the new normal.”

She took her seat, cool as a cucumber.

Cassian stayed standing, frozen in a mix of fury and pure panic.

He tried to ping their mating bond, but he couldn’t catch even a flicker of her emotions. It was like she’d gone completely ghost on him.

Samantha sat there, her face going pale from the sheer weight of Cassian

aura.

Seeing that he refused to sit, Samantha started to edge out of her chair. Tristamaybe I should just go. I don’t want to kill the mood.

Samantha made a move to bail.

Trista started to get up to stop her, but Cassian beat her to it. His hand clamped around Trista’s wrist like a steel trap, his grip so hard it probably left marks.

He shot Samantha a look so sharp it could’ve drawn blooda look of pure, unadulterated rejection.

He snatched the promotion gift he’d spent forever picking out and dragged Trista out of the

restaurant.

Samantha was left standing there alone, staring at two perfectly plated dinners. She bit her lip until it bled, cursing Trista under her breath.

This wasn’t about being bighearted. It was a public execution.

Chapter 219

Trista had dragged her there to show her that she was a complete jokea third wheel who would never, ever break into their mating bond.

Outside, Cassian hauled Trista toward his car.

He was walking so fast his knuckles were white from the effort of holding her.

Trista couldn’t break his Alphalevel grip, so she was forced to jog just to keep up with his erratic pace.

They piled into the car, the door slamming with a thud that echoed in the tiny cabin.

Cassian sat there, his thin lips pressed into a hard line, his pheromones practically hitting a boiling point.

Trista cleared her throat, looking totally unbothered. So, are we doing this here, or are you waiting until we get back to the territory?

To her, the bond was already dead and buried.

To him, fighting was a release; to her, it was just a chore she had to finish before she could finally sign the severance papers.

Cassian gripped the steering wheel so hard the veins in his forehead looked ready to burst. He fought back his beastly instincts and gunned the engine.

The drive back to the apartment was a suffocating silence.

As they climbed out, they ran straight into Isaiah.

He and Trista greeted each other like old friends and headed for the elevator together.

Behind them, Cassian’s face went black. It was the look of a lead wolf watching a rival predator mark his turf.

Only when Trista threw a bored glance back at him did he manage to drag his feet and follow

them in.

The three of them piled into the cramped elevator, the tension thick enough to choke on.

Isaiah decided to go for the throat. Trista, the curtains in my bedroom are driving me crazy. It’s tanking my Zen. Why don’t you come up for five minutes and help me pick a new color?

Trista looked at Cassian. Because they were still technically mated, she felt like she had to ask. Is it okay if I go up for a few?

Their eyes locked just as the doors slid open.

Chapter 219

Cassian didn’t say a word. He just snatched Trista’s wrist and used his raw strength to haul her out of the elevator and into the apartment.

Inside, Trista calmly kicked off her heels. Cassian was still standing in the foyer like a statue on fire. She reached into the closet, pulled out his slippers, and set them on the floor for him.

Cassian suddenly lunged, grabbing her by the arms and yanking her flush against him. He was breathing heavily, his Alpha scent spiraling out of control.

Trista,he growled, his voice a low, animalistic rumble. Don’t you have anything to say?

Trista pried his hands off her, looking completely over it. In your eyes, every move I make is wrong. Since I can’t win anyway, I’m not even sure what I’m supposed to be explaining.”

The vein in Cassian’s temple was throbbing. He was at his limit.

You know exactly what I’m talking about. Don’t play dumb with me.

Trista looked him in the eye, her expression dead serious. I really don’t. Maybe you want to give me a hint, Alpha Cassian?

They stood there in a standoff until Cassian looked like he was about to pass out from rage.

Finally, Trista broke the silence. Is this about me helping Isaiah with his bedroom?

Cassian let out a harsh, sarcastic laugh. What is he, a vampire? He can’t c the day? He has to drag you up there in the middle of the night?
