The Heartbroken Luna's Choice Banish Love novel Chapter 300

Third Person's POV

Samantha tried to keep her voice steady. "Alaina, are you sure you haven't been misinformed? You've seen the lineage reports. If you're still doubting it, have Cassian take him back to the High Priest of the Werewolf Council."

Alaina nodded. "Fair point."

As soon as the words left her mouth, two guards stepped forward and pinned the pair down. They roughly yanked a tuft of hair from Algernon's head—a sample for a secondary bloodline sensing.

The boy burst into tears, kicking and biting at the guards. "My daddy is Ironthorn's Alpha! He's going to rip you all to pieces!"

Samantha panicked. She slammed her hand over her son's mouth, trying to snatch the sample back.

Alaina delivered a stinging blow that sent Samantha staggering back.

"I let you stay here out of respect for the Ironthorn bloodline," Alaina said, looking down at her with pure ice in her eyes.

"But since this brat doesn't have a single drop of Ironthorn DNA, I'm officially out of mercy."

Samantha refused to back down. "Someone is lying! How could Algernon not be Cassian's? Call him here right now—our bond doesn't lie!"

She was screaming, but her voice was shaking.

Where did it go wrong?

Cassian had promised to keep the secret.

If it wasn't him, was "that man" back in LA?

Alaina pulled out the lease agreement. "Samantha, I wouldn't be here without proof. You've contaminated my territory. On top of the rent, you now owe thirty million dollars in damages."

Samantha went pale. "You said I could renovate however I wanted! You can't take that back!"

"Do you have that in writing?" Alaina countered.

Samantha swayed on her feet, biting her lip until it bled.

She had been played. This woman had been digging a pit for her from day one.

"Black and white, Samantha. Every cent. You're out of this house tonight," Alaina announced calmly.

"I know you're broke, so I've already contacted your family. Your bags and jewelry will be seized to cover part of the debt. The rest? Your brother can handle it."

Samantha snapped. "Don't you touch them!"

Alaina let out a cold laugh. "The pride of the Fernandez family—the daughter who cons Alphas to fund her nephews' lifestyles. I'll make sure every member of your family knows exactly how you earned that 'glory.'"

Samantha hissed a threat through her teeth. "I'm the one Cassian loves. Do this, and you'll lose your son forever."

"I'm already considering stripping him of his inheritance. Do you really think I care if he hates me?" Alaina looked at her like she was trash.

"Howard is awake. If you don't want to be exiled from the city, get out of LA. Now."

Algernon's sobbing lasted well into the night until Samantha finally had enough.

She swallowed her pride and called Madison, then hurried out into the night with the boy.

The next morning, Trista had just arrived at the healing center when a small figure came sprinting toward her.

She knelt and caught Sayer in her arms.

The little guy didn't say a word; he just hid his face against her chest like a frightened pup.

"It's okay, Sayer. I've got you." Trista gently pinched his cheek.

She picked him up, and Sayer buried his head in her shoulder, whispering a single word. "Mommy."

Thinking of the child she had just lost, Trista felt a sharp pang in her chest.

She didn't correct him. Instead, she just rubbed his head protectively.

Elias walked up, looking slightly embarrassed. "I'm sorry, Miss Holmes. Once Sayer's wolf soul is stable, I'll make sure he stops."

Trista forced a small smile. "If he can't help it, he can just call me his Godmother."

"It's a deal," Elias said instantly, closing the matter before she could change her mind.
