The Heartbroken Luna's Choice Banish Love novel Chapter 361

Third Person's POV

At the same time, at the Imperial Club, Cassian stepped back into the private suite after finishing his business.

Samantha immediately clung to his arm, her eyes wide with frantic excitement. "Cassian, Madison heard it was my birthday and set up a party in the ballroom. Everyone is just being so sweet—could we just stop by for a bit? For me?"

Cassian lowered his gaze to hide the flash of pure loathing in his eyes.

He stayed silent for a heartbeat before giving a rare, submissive nod. "Since you're so desperate to go public, fine. Let's go."

Samantha was so thrilled she almost shrieked. "Cassian, I knew you were the best!"

She figured the second she walked into that room on his arm, she'd be the top-tier she-wolf in the L.A. pack scene.

She couldn't wait to see if that bitch Trista could keep up her "cool healer" act once she saw them together.

Humphrey, waiting by the door, followed them silently.

He'd seen stupid people before, but he'd never seen someone so eager to dig their own grave.

She was literally begging for her own execution.

It was no wonder Trista never took this woman seriously; they weren't even in the same dimension when it came to bloodline or brains.

9:00 PM, under Madison's careful direction, Alaina, Wynn, and Fred had all been "invited" to the Grand Ballroom.

In Los Angeles, the Ironthorn name alone—even on a fake invite—was enough to bring out half the city's elite.

Madison, a neglected bastard daughter of the Bluestar pack, was desperate to suck up to Samantha, the "future Luna."

Fred swirled his drink, finding the whole thing ridiculous. "Madison, since when did you become this woman's lapdog?"

Madison pointed toward the door where the two were walking in. "Cassian wanted to give her a 'gift she'll never forget.' I'm just helping out." With that, she and a group of social climbers swarmed the couple.

Alaina, Wynn, and Fred traded a look, their expressions grim.

Cassian scanned the tacky decorations and gave Humphrey a subtle look.

Humphrey nodded almost imperceptibly and vanished into the crowd.

As the crowd showered Samantha with fake flattery, Cassian's eyes landed coldly on his mother and sister.

Samantha noticed his gaze. Instead of backing off, she gave them a smug smile. "Don't be mad, Cassian. We're all going to be family soon. I just wanted to clear the air, so I had Madison invite them."

Just then, Georgia ran into the hall, looking frantic. "Samantha! Samantha! I brought—"

If she wanted to turn her own life into a public circus, Trista didn't mind having a front-row seat.

Trista gave Alaina a respectful nod.

Alaina was fuming, her eyes bloodshot and her pressure wildly unstable. "What the hell is Samantha trying to pull by dragging us all here?"

"Alaina, we're already here. Might as well enjoy the show," Fred said, looking like he was enjoying the chaos.

Isaiah leaned over to Fred. "You smell some inside info? Spill it."

Fred just pushed the kid's head away.

Isaiah might act like a brat, but his nose for danger was as sharp as a purebred hunter's.

The group retreated to the sidelines, watching Samantha take the stage.

She stood next to Cassian, clearing her throat and trying to act like a Luna. "I want to thank all the Alphas and everyone here for coming to my birthday party on such short notice."

She paused, looking at Cassian with naked greed.

Then she cut a look toward Trista, her eyes full of undisguised malice. "Cassian originally wanted to keep this private, just the two of us... especially for the 'surprise' he has for me. But I'm just too happy. I wanted you all to witness our reunion."
