Why is Avery constantly projected as a weak, Gideon-centered female? It’s draining please I hope you can do better on your next lead female....

I think this critique misses the actual complexity of the story. The FMC isn’t “weak” just because she struggles with reconnecting to a mate who deeply hurt her. Her conflict is the entire point—she’s balancing years of emotional betrayal, neglect, survival, motherhood, and the undeniable primal bond that defines the werewolf mate trope. Strength doesn’t always mean walking away without conflict; sometimes it means cautiously confronting the past while demanding better.
Yes, the writing itself may need refinement, but reducing her character to “do better” overlooks the layered emotional tension the author was clearly trying to create. In a fated mate narrative, that bond isn’t something easily dismissed, and the push-pull between instinct, mistrust, and reconciliation is what drives the genre. A stronger critique would focus on execution, pacing, or character development—not flattening a nuanced premise into a shallow take.
