Chapter 212 The World Narrowed To Him

He filled the doorway, dressed in full tactical gear, his face grim under the helmet. He took in the scene in a single, sweeping glance: Elera knelt by a bleeding Drakonius, Lin holding a gun on a sobbing Kieran, Xan sitting on top of him looking dazed. The ruined lab. The blood. The scalpel sticking out of Kieran’s hand.

A flicker of something like admiration crossed his stoic features. Ghost,he said, his voice a low rumble. Report.

Elera, her fingers back in Drakonius’s wound, didn’t look up. Sentinel is stable for now. Bullet fragments removed. Bleeding controlled. I need transport to a surgical suite now. The culprit, she said, with icy formality, is restrained.

Frost nodded. He strode across the room. Xan, seeing him, wisely scrambled off Kieran.

Kieran looked up at Frost, a final, pitiful attempt at defiance in his eyes. This is my property! You’re trespassing! I was attacked!

Frost didn’t say a word. He leaned down, and with a brutally efficient motion, he wrenched the scalpel from Kieran’s hand.

Kieran shrieked.

Frost ignored him. He pulled a heavyduty zip tie from his belt, grabbed Kieran’s uninjured wrist, then yanked the bleeding one over, ignoring Kieran’s cries of pain. In three seconds, Kieran’s hands were bound tightly behind his back. Frost then pulled a second tie and secured Kieran’s ankles together.

He stood up, looking down at the trussed, bleeding, weeping form of Kieran Nethys. He looked less like a fallen titan and more like a spoiled, angry child who had finally been put in timeout.

It’s over,Frost said, and it wasn’t a threat or a proclamation. It was just a fact.

hind him, paramedics and police officers flooded into the room, their uniforms a blur of dark blue and eflective tape. The paramedics rushed to Drakonius, gently but firmly moving Elera aside to take over. She let them, her strength suddenly gone, collapsing back onto her heels, her bloody hands hanging limp at her sides.

officer approached Frost. We’ll take it from here, sir.

handed him Kieran’s gun, now in an evidence bag produced from nowhere. The culprit is one Kieran Nethys. Attempted murder, kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon, breaking and entering. The full menu. The scalpel,” he added, pointing to the bloody instrument on the floor, was in selfdefense, wielded by the victim’s wife to disarm him, we have multiple witnesses.

The officer nodded, scribbling notes as his colleagues hauled Kieran to his feet. Kieran was babbling now, a stream of incoherent threats, legal jargon, and pleas about his hand needing a doctor.

As they led him past, he locked eyes with Elera one last time. She just stared back, empty. All the words had been said. All the battles have been fought. There was nothing left in him to hate, only a hollow shell to be carried away.

Then he was gone, his voice fading down the hallway, replaced by the efficient, professional sounds of the
