Chapter 126 The Michelle Conspiracy
The more Stella listened, the deeper her frown became.
This was beyond outrageous.
There was nothing someone like that wouldn’t do.
If Amber had feelings for Jasper, then she almost certainly resented Nicole.
This wasn’t the first time Stella had suspected Amber. But she could never find anything concrete.
Where was the gap?
Felix had clearly been covering for Amber all these years. Did that mean he was involved in what happened to Nicole too?
“You-”
She ‘started to give an order, but when she met Cody’s eyes, the words stopped.

Cody seemed to understand what she was thinking. His expression turned serious. “Just say the word. Miss Shaw. I’ll handle it.”
Stella was surprised at how quickly he’d picked up on it.
“Mr. Moore always said that seeing you is like seeing him. Whatever you ask of us, we treat it the same as if he’d ordered it himself.”
“Then I need you to look into someone for me.”
“Who?”
Stella’s eyes narrowed slightly. “Amber’s biological mother.”
“I have her file right here. One moment.”
Stella scanned the documents carefully. When she finished, her brow was still furrowed.
“Something wrong?”
“Find out if she’s actually alive. Or dead.”
“She-”
Cody stopped himself before saying “she’s been dead for decades“. “I’ll get on it right away.”
He took a few steps, then turned back. “Miss Shaw–if you wouldn’t mind staying with Mr. Moore? The others are a bit clumsy. I’d feel better knowing you’re here. I’m sorry to impose.”
Before she could respond, he was out the door, moving faster than someone his age should.

He was nothing like the man she’d first met. It was as if he’d aged twenty years overnight.
She stepped out of the room. Elias was waiting in the living room.
“How is he?”
“Grief. Anger. Too much at once.”
He’d just caught up on the Moore family situation himself. He hadn’t expected things to unravel like this.
“Elias, you should head home. I’m staying tonight.”
“Want me to bring you anything?”
Before she could answer, the housekeeper, Lily, appeared. “Miss Shaw, Mr. Moore prepared a room for you some time ago. Clothes, toiletries–everything you might need is already there.”
“Alright.”
Lily sensed they needed a moment and quietly withdrew.
Stella walked Elias out.
“The roads are slick. Drive carefully.”
He nodded, pulled her close, and brushed a hand through her hair. “Don’t worry. He’ll be fine.”
“I know.”
He kissed her forehead, soft and lingering. “I’ll go.”
She watched his taillights disappear into the rain, then went back inside.
Her phone buzzed.
She glanced at the screen and answered, “Master.”
“Ah, Stella. So you’re a Moore after all.”
“Technically.”
“I have information for you. Inside information.”
Stella’s brow furrowed. “What kind of information?”
He took a breath. “You know about Michelle Martin?”
Stella’s eyes sharpened. “You know her? Where is she?”
A pause. Then a laugh. “As expected of my disciple. Always two steps ahead. You want to know about her?”
