Chapter 43 A Fifty Million Dollar Fee
“Elias, it was a misunderstanding. A genuine misunderstanding.”
Leo’s face was etched with apology. “Miss Shaw, I’m sorry for wasting your time. Please don’t hold it against my family–they were just worried about my grandfather.”
“Mr. Cross, what exactly are you implying?”
“Are you saying she’s actually the Master Healer’s apprentice? The ‘Prodigy Healer‘?”
“Mr. Cross, how can you prove she’s the Prodigy Healer?”
Elias let out a cold laugh. “Anyone I vouch for doesn’t need to prove a thing. If she says she is, then she is.”
Something flickered in Stella’s eyes.
She realized that from the moment she’d met him, he’d never once hesitated to believe in her.
“Dad! Dad, what’s happening?”
“Leo, get in here!”
Leo was already moving. “Elias, please–don’t let the Prodigy Healer leave.”
Chaos had erupted in Moore Manor.
Only Jasper remained frozen in place, his back still turned to Felix.
Felix’s lips were stained with blood. He forced his eyes open, his face ashen, and stared at his son’s unyielding back.
“Jasper… won’t you… won’t you even look at your father?”
Jasper’s eyes burned. He squeezed them shut, fists clenched at his sides, but he didn’t turn around.
“Pfft-”
“Grandpa!”
“Dad!”
Felix coughed up blood. Panic swept through the room.
“Miss Shaw, please.”
Leo’s plea hung in the air. Mark stepped forward, his expression respectful as he gestured toward the door. “Miss Shaw, right this way.”
It wasn’t so much that he trusted Stella–it was that he trusted Elias.
Besides, the Master Healer’s apprentice was genuinely supposed to visit today. Anyone bold enough to

impersonate her would have to face the consequences, wouldn’t they?
And the Moores weren’t exactly pushovers.
Stella gave a small nod and opened her medical bag.

The moment she pulled out her acupuncture set, Amber couldn’t hold back. “What is this? We’re really letting her treat Dad?”
“Treat him or not? Your call.”
Stella’s voice cut through the room like ice, and Amber found herself oddly unsettled.
This woman had some nerve.
“Treat him. Miss Shaw, we’re in your hands.”
Mark shot his sister a warning look.
Stella inserted a few needles, and finally, Felix’s breathing steadied. She gave him a small pill, and slowly, color returned to his pale face.
Everyone watched, stunned into silence.
Elias‘ eyes brightened. The more he watched, the more captivated he became.
He didn’t even realize that the warmth in his gaze was becoming impossible to hide.
After a while, Stella wrote out a prescription and handed it to Mark.
“Miss Shaw, how is he?”
“Treatable.”
“Thank you. Truly,”
‘Stella began packing up her things.
“So. Who’s paying?”
Amber rolled her eyes. “Caleb. Give her a million. Keep the change.”
Elias opened his mouth to speak, but Stella gently tugged at the hem of his jacket. A cold smile curved her lips. “Not enough.”
“Not enough? Then how much do you want?”
“Fifty million.”
The room went dead silent.
“That’s–that’s robbery!”

“Is the Moore family planning to skip out on the bill?”
“Felix’s not even fully awake yet!”
“He’s awake now, isn’t he?”
Finished
Felix wasn’t just awake–within two hours, he had visibly improved. The man who’d been bedridden for months was now able to stand with his family’s support.
Everyone stared in disbelief.
“Pay her. Pay Miss Shaw immediately.”
Only a fool would offend a doctor like this.
Amber’s expression soured. “They say doctors are supposed to have compassion…”
“Let me be clear with you. I’m charging fifty million purely because I don’t like you.”
She could handle skepticism. She wouldn’t tolerate disrespect.
“Miss Shaw, will you be handling my grandfather’s treatment going forward?”
“That depends on my mood. If I’m not in the mood, I don’t work.”
She walked out, leaving the Moore family feeling thoroughly humiliated.
“Mark, she just disrespected our entire family!”
Amber tried to continue, but Mark’s cold stare shut her down.
