She couldn’t wait.

“Miss Shaw, I know you’re still on probationary status. If money’s tight, don’t worry about a gift.”

Stella’s lips curved as she accepted the invitation.

“Then tell your dad to deduct two hundred from what he owes me. Consider that my gift.”

The smug look evaporated from Jasmine’s face.

Stella walked away, exiting with style.

Jasmine’s fists clenched at her sides as she watched Stella go, hatred burning in her eyes.

She’d see how long Stella could keep that smug look on her face.

She still had the invitation Silas had personally designed for Nirvana sitting in her apartment.

“Stella.”

She turned. Elias stood under the big oak tree, wearing a simple white button–down. The setting sun painted him in warm light, accentuating the quiet nobility in his posture. A faint smile touched his strikingly handsome face.

He walked toward her, long strides carrying him through the golden light.

Stella raised an eyebrow and smiled. “What a coincidence.”

‘Not a coincidence. I came looking for you.”

‘Oh?”

“This is for you.”

She looked at the folder he held out, confusion flickering across her face.

‘I said the wrong thing yesterday. This is my apology. My way of showing I mean it.”

Stella couldn’t help but laugh.

“What? Is my apology wrong?”

“Then I’ll tell Gideon to clock out early.”
